Gothic rockers Solemn Novena formed in Belfast, N.Ireland in early 2006, with a mission of creating guitar orientated Gothic Rock, no techno bleepy influences or metal posturing for these guys, oh no. This had to be straight down the middle goth, just like the 90s had never happened...or this century either...
Sick of going to gothic nightclubs and spending the nights looking moody in the corners, secretly wishing they'd play 'Serpents Kiss' (so they could display the light bulb changing and apple picking dance moves they'd spent years perfecting in front of their mirrors) instead of the stuff these people were dancing to, holding their glow sticks. Hell, some of the people at these clubs didnt even dye their hair black. Something had to be done, and there were only 3 people up to the task.
Self proclaimed saviours of the UK goth scene Solemn Novena have arrived, and invite you to join them on their crusade against musical progression, and to stop those bloody cyber-kids taking all the good seats on Saturday nights.
Are you ready for it? Are you in? ...well are you? Oh, be like that then...
FRIDAY 4TH JULY 2008 @ The Warehouse,Boucher Road, Belfast
KYLE GEIGER (US) (Drumcode)
Named in DJ Mag as the "breakthrough DJ of 2008" by Adam Beyer, Kyle's explosive decks and effects DJ sets bridge the divide between techno and minimal.
Originally inspired by the harder, percussive stylings of the late 90's Swedish techno sound featured on seminal labels like Drumcode and Code Red, Kyle has witnessed the evolution of the genre as it morphed into a slower, groove based sound.
We're happy to have Kyle joining us between gigs at the legendary Berghain (Berlin) and rising stars mUmU (Liverpool) so get down early for this one...

I watch this "Faerytale"-Video every day because the song is so fucking great! I really hope for a new CD soon. Only this one EP is not enough for me. I really need more!

I appreciate your adding me to your page. Your excellent as I searched for new bands last night. I really don't have alot of non-band friends as music is my thing! I worked for a record company for years and got to know the buisness side of it very well and know what the band go through to make it to a label. If your fortunate enough to be on a label you have worked hard for that. I am very proud to call your band a friend. Love and Light! Jackie x
