About Solid Rock and Metal Fest (Stalking Prada tour)
Nestled in the heart of rural Indiana County in western Pennsylvania, the Ambrose Baptist Church is in many ways a typical country church: weekly worship services and Bible classes, monthly celebration of the Lord's Supper, occasional fellowship meals, Easter sunrise services, Christmas Eve candlelight services, graduation banquets, and an annual Vacation Bible School. But in the summer of 2006 we added a little twist to the typical, when we sponsored our first ever Solid Rock and Metal Fest, featuring some of the finest regional Christian artists on our outdoor stage (which was a converted hay wagon.)
Indiana, PA's own The Silver Halos opened the show, followed by Featherlight from Tarentum, PA. Promiseland gave a Mozart meets Metalica aura to the fest, with Neocracy rocking out the close by showing the Amish how it's really done.
In 2007 we expanded the lineup to seven bands, which included Those Who Fear from the Pittsburgh area; I Am Alpha and Omega from New Jersey, who were on their way to play several shows at the Cornerstone Festival with frequent tour stops along the way; Endeavor the Seas, on their way back to their home in Virginia from their midwest tour; and Breaking the Silence from Uniontown, PA, who has since been signed to Tooth and Nail Records.
The festival is free and open to the public, and a variety of food will be available throughout the day.
We hope that you can come out an join us every year on the first Sunday in June from 2 pm til 9 pm as we rock out in our (usually) quiet rural setting.
A splendid time is guaranteed for all.
