Singer, songwriter, promoter, host, partyer... Solie was born to be on stage.
The Caribbean-American with parents hailing from Dominica and Grenada grew up in Newton, MA surrounded by and embracing both her own and other cultures. She began soloing in church at age 9 and taking piano at 12. At the same time her mother enrolled her in classical voice training and she continued to take lessons and perform classically throughout her collegiate career at Wellesley College. While at Wellesley she branched out into the genres of a cappella, jazz, and pop by singing with the Blue Notes, Prism Jazz, Body & Soul, and POPular. Solie performed her own renditions of the National Anthem at Boston's Fenway Park before Red Sox games.
She also discovered her passion for gathering people of all backgrounds together under the mission of good times. As founder of Eilos Events, an international group of all female promoters, representing Hong Kong, Russia, Bosnia, South Korea, Honduras, Sri Lanka, the Caribbean countries of Jamaica, Grenada, Dominica, and Puerto Rico. Solie lead the diverse group of lovely lady partyers to play time at all the hottest Boston spots and hosted open mics and poetry slams. Now based in NYC she continues to entertain the masses.
Rocking out with the ladies to Electro, House, Hip Hop, Rock, Dance, New wave, etc. and hearing of their life experiences, Solie wanted to create a new voice. One that originated in the experiences of the women she met and didn't depict women as only dancing in the club looking for guys, money, and drinks. In the winter 2008 she began writing her own music and collaborating with Berklee engineer and producer J. Loucas. Her first EP "Broken" is scheduled to be out Fall 2009. She continues to party and perform in New York, Boston and beyond.
Thanks for the add Solie. I appreciate all feedback, so I would love it if you could check out my songs, and tell me what you think. Feel free to keep in touch, I always reply.
