Steve Lawson - just me, a lot of the time, though just as often these days I'm playing in a duo with an unbelievably great singer, Lobelia , or my brand new trio, lawson/dodds/wood.
IF YOU'RE GOING TO ADD ME, SEND ME A PERSONAL MESSAGE WITH IT, PLEASE!! If you don't send me a message, your request will be denied. "hey, listen to my songs!" does not constitute a message. That's just spam. Talk to me. Go on, I dare ya! :)

It's all instrumental, and all the solo albums are recorded live in the studio.
"Steve Lawson is a brilliant musician.I've known about him and listened to him for many years. He may not be one of the most famous bassists but he is definitely one of the most talented." - Victor Wooten
"I highly recommend [grace and gratitude]. As Steve's playing and concept grow he makes ever more gorgeous and engaging music that really demonstrates the expressive depth of the bass. The richness of this music makes for a rewarding listening experience on all levels and I think Steve's approach represents a real step forward for the art of solo bass." Michael Manring (solo artist)
"Lawson's writing and his phenomenal command of the possibilities of looping creates a compelling and surprising variety of sounds one would never imagine the bass capable of producing." - JazzWise
"...Steve's complex array of sound and rare, intimate touch are rapidly turning him into one of the most influential bassists in the world."
- Bass Guitar Magazine (uk)
"This is some of the most beautiful, deeply felt music that I have heard performed on any instrument, let alone bass guitar...Steve Lawson has made a record with just a bass guitar that is moving, musical--hell, listenable! A feat I would have heretofore thought impossible." - Pure Music Magazine
"When I first heard Steve Lawson it made me go home and practice my bass again, it was inspiring to hear his use of bass loops with great melodies. He doesn't play like a bass player, he plays like a musician. I am going to rip off every idea he has ever had!!"
- Matt Bissonette (bassist to the stars)
"one of today's most inventive and original sounding voices on the electric bass. He is a pioneering innovator in the art of looping."

I did find you in YouTube. The ASCAP conference had a Gibson jam room open in the evening for any and all members to attend: songwriters/musicians. They had it stocked with guitar's, bass instruments, keyboards, etc. It was jamming and people were even using the furniture for drums, etc. There were some hot bass players there and I really have a love for good and unusual bass. So...started looking for good bass players on YouTube. I am a lyricist/songwriter who is also starting to perform, etc. Also, have family in Northern Ireland and have traveled to England many times, so I hope to hook up with you and hear you in person. Right now, I'm in the studio working on fine tuning a few singles for personal release. Blatancy...(Ethan Arnold)
Thanks for the friendship Steve. It's slide guitar actually :-) Love the woody tone you get, and will definitely be coming along to check it out live. Keep posting the blogs - great stuff.
