Solutions are a three piece melodic punk rock band from Cardiff. Formed in May 2008, the band take inspiration in both method and aesthetic from their forward thinking punk and post hardcore forefathers, with the spirit and visceral intelligence of bands like Husker Du, Manic Street Preachers, Small Brown Bike, Sugar and Against Me! unmistakably apparent in Solutions artistic endeavours to date. A resolute persistence and a strong ‘Do It Yourself’ approach has already seen Solutions have already share the stage with established and electrifying acts such as Future Of The Left, Paint It Black, Fake Problems, The Misfits, Haunts, Strike Anywhere, Pulled Apart By Horses, Shaped By Fate, Blackhole and more.
As well as playing their part in some incredible live shows, Solutions have also received regular airplay on BBC Radio Wales thanks to some heavys upport in the form of Adam Walton, whom the band recorded a studio session for in January 2009, and also from Bethan Elfyn, whom the band recorded a lives ession for as part of a BBC Introducing show held at Musicbox Cardiff in May 2009.
Solutions are currently putting their finishing touches to an eight track album (‘Before The Roars’) which they will be self releasing via the internet on Monday 7th December 2009, with the ultimate hope of a physical release of the album to follow in the New Year.
The band are planning to spend the next year further establishing themselves on the live circuit, as well as fiercely promoting their soon to be available catalogue of work. A tour alongside Exeter band OK Pilot is beinga rranged for January/February 2010 to promote ‘Before The Roars’ across the country, and another stint in the studio has already been booked for April 2010 to record brand new material.
