Since its inception in late 2005, the five piece band known as Somber has been making strides to get noticed as a contender for one of the best local original acts around. The band has achieved a great deal of ground by local music magazines and also local radio. The band has gone through a great deal of its ups and downs, but all with due reason. The 1st release titled "One Step Away From Nothing" was released in late 2005, and caught attention quick by local TV. One of the tracks titled "Destiny" was used for a special program on our local troops serving in Iraq. The album sold out of the 1000 copies within months. The next step was to lay the ground work and hit the clubs. The 5 gained some great exposure by playing shows throughout PA, MD, DE, and NY. As it seemed the music took to a new level, writing became a bit more intense and the 5 guys were "getting in the pocket". They reached out to Bret Alexander of Saturation Acres (credited with the 1st Breaking Benjamin release)(and member of the Nationally signed act The Badlees). The crew went to work to record a 4 song demo to help get into some bigger clubs. It worked the band was playing shows with acts like Papa Roach, Crossfade, Saliva, Vanilla Ice, Black Label Society, and more. This was still not enough. The saga continued and the 5 were getting more intense with the writing. That led to also handing over the legal work to Rhoads and Sinon out of Harrisburg Pa. The crew went to work writing the new upcoming album titled "Bittersweet". The 13 track full length CD (featuring a remake of Johnny Cash's Folsom Prison Blues) sold 1000 copies in only a few months.
