Stuff by myself is me and a piano and singing some old classics like Marley, Muse and some of me own stuff. I also on occassion play my own stuff on guitar and sing.
My main focus at the moment is my band Machaca which consists of;
Vocals: Regina/Me/Ant
Guitars: Me/Ant
Keys: Tom Jazz Hands
Drums: Julian
Percussion: Louis
Bass Dave
Influences
Nina Simone, Muse, Sublime, No Doubt, Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, Eva Cassidy, Bob Marley, the Cat Empire, BB King, Bedouin Soundclash, Nirvana, Velvet Underground, George, Incubus, Premium Costsutter red wine, Mushrooms, me Ma, Me Pa, 'orrible men, and the Wurzles. Religion, poverty, love, death, peace, weed, overpriced dental treatment, new shoes and cider.
Sounds Like
A trip through my chi. And Joni Mitchell apparently.
I'm a general music nut. I like to play. I write songs with acoustic guitar and on occasion will sing them in public. Ive been trying to record them nicely for the last 6 months on an 8 track which, unfortunately, broke on me, lost all the magic and ruined my dreams. Sad. But its okay I have a new 8 track, borrowed off someone fleeing the country so hopefully will get my arse into gear and record them again.
Aside from this I recently happened to stumble accross a piano in my front room..Nice. So have been refamiliarising myself with the works of Chopin who I must say is a bit of a hardcore, freak fingered genius. I'm also sorting out some jazz interpretations of some Sir Bob of the Marley variety. Dont ask just wait and see.
UPDATE:
Well, the 8 track didnt work out, i had to give it back before working out how to use it properly. nevermind. ive had a lot go on recently. The Marley interpretations worked out beautifully. I have new ideas for some more jazzy stuff. I will try to record them at some point and stick them on here.
The other thing is the band, Machaca, i love playing in, we do sort of salsa/reggae/blues/ska and im loving every second of it!!!!!

The day is fast approaching where Poole will finally get to see MOHAIR do a RARE ACOUSTIC SET as CuRioSiTy goes Acoustic for One Night Only this Thursday 31st May @ Mr Kyps.
We'll be presenting this night on our second stage IN THE ROUND; providing candlelit intimacy and a unique, intense atmosphere.
With heavy riff band The Clams also stripping their music down for the night, and Declan Bennett to open, it's a superb bill and a rare opportunity to catch Mohair acoustic.

We're playing the last ever solid air at Le Bateau in Parkstone this evening (Sunday 29th); If you've ever been then you'll know it's an ideal place to listen to some chilled out tunes with a crisp beer on a warm spring evening.
Following a selection of the area's finest acoustic artists including: Elliott Paterson, Sonnet (unplugged), Matt Cameron and Pierre Le Blag (Perico/Pee Pee) Burning Sheppard (The Clams' Olly Hopper & Andy Stock), Mali Madden, Tim Berry and The Sarah Griffen Band; we'll be mixing it up with some new songs and some new toys. Acoustic guitars, upright bass, brushed drums and percussion define the vibe.
First act should start around 8:00, and the music will go till midnight; entrance is free.
Whether or not you make it down tonight, you can catch Romin and Jean-Paul playing some tracks and shooting the breeze with Tony Warren on Forest FM radio (92.3 FM) based in Verwood at 8:00PM tomorrow (Monday 30th), if you're too far away then you can listen live online here.
