Well, both my parents are musicians. They met on tour with a gospel band in the 70's and got married six weeks later. As their second of two sons, I spent my entire childhood in recording studios learning to play instruments and drawing to keep myself from getting bored. I love my parents and I wouldn't trade them in for the world. When I was little, they tried signing me up for just about every activity imaginable, bless their hearts. After what seemed like an eternity of the most climactic, humiliating displays of a lack of athleticism in the history of the solar system, they finally gave up on my playing sports since it was pretty much the worst idea ever.
As a result, they enrolled me in private lessons in piano and saxophone, with a little better luck. Later, I learned to play the drums, play guitar, and sing. Over time, I've built my own home studio, and I write and record my own music. In highschool, I was all about electives. I took as many art classes as they offered, immersed myself in the computer programming department, took 3 years of theater, and I was the lead singer in a rock band. After I graduated, I went to school at Indiana University for a couple of years studying art and computer programming. I dropped school full-time to work as the lead in character design for a cartoon production company, and continued a part-time education at Ball State University. Ultimately, exaggerated isolation from my employment at the production company lead to a very depressing time for me. Obviously, I quit and moved to Atlanta, GA to get a fresh start.
Primarily, I have been working in restaurants as a server, as a bartender, and as a bar manager, to make ends meet while I figure out what to do next. In 2006, I started a full-time casting agent position at a big talent management agency downtown and I was still bartending on the weekends there for about a year. I'm continuing an off-an-on, part-time education at Georgia State and, hopefully, I'll get my bachelor's degree before I'm 40, no promises. At the end of 2006, I was promoted to the Agency Photographer which, although a very educational experience for me, also turned out to be a complete nightmare. After the bar at which I used to work closed in early 2007, I decided to focus on my day job at the agency. Well, after careful consideration, the entire staff of the agency, not including the owner, decided to quit in hopes to incapacitate his ability to stay in business, due to the morale and ethically challenges of working for him. I was a sound engineer for a cover band here in the Atlanta area for a little while. I now spend most of my time either with my ever-so perfect girlfriend, writing and recording music, rehearsing cover songs, drawing, painting, partying, or looking forward to finally being publicly recognized for my chronic creativity.
