Something Fishy are the hottest new Gay Cabaret Act and have taken the London Circuit by storm. This sexy, sassy, witty combination transport you through time and deliver kitsch melody and downright dirty disco. Make sure you catch us live - you'll have the time of your life!
Once upon a time, four star crossed socialites went to Windsor to visit the Queen...
alas, He refused them entry, so, they went to the pub instead. On the journey back to London, they hatched a devilish plan... to take the Gay Cabaret Circuit by storm, and thus, Something Fishy was born...
So started an intensive rehearsal schedule consisting of alcohol, cigarettes, barely playable instruments, food a plenty and expletives to colour a country! After a few moments of anguish and a good deal of lascivious conduct, one song was decided upon. Thereafter, hours of torment ensued until one creative evening a signature song came into being. Soon after, word was on the street that the Fishy Few were about to strut their funky stuff and, as with any rags to riches story, a gig was offered.
>A strolling player now enters stage left. From far flung North East London, a celebrated artist was on the prowl for innocent gay entertainers to mould into superstars. At an elegant soiree, the artist came to hear of the 'Fishy Project' and cunningly took them under his wing...
The stylist took the innocents to wicked Camden Town and proceeded to make a transformation never before seen...from dowdy wannabes to a gaytastic extravaganza of indulgent wannabes.
The stage was almost set, just enough time for a orgy...(of alcohol), a couple of rehearsals, (with mirrors to perfect their magnificent movements) and a critique from well trusted friends and the show was on the road..to Bushey!
In the smallest pub to house lesbians since the Boer War the Fishies braved the 'changing shed' and transformed! From the first tantalizing chord the audience was hooked. As the Fishies acclimatized to adoration, their characters took on a life of their own. They worked it, moved it, shook it and grooved it till they were spent and left the audience gagging for more...
Still flushed from first gig success, they moved onwards and upwards to London with a debut gig at 'Bar Wotever'. This time, no carpeted floor area in front of the french windows, oh no, but a stage for the Fishies. The 'changing shed' ... now a 'changing hallway'. Technical problems aside, the gig was a rocker! The audience embraced the fledgling superstars and took them into their bosom big time! The joint was jumpin as the Fishies finished on an 'Accidental' high note...
Moving onward and upward The Black Cap beckoned...On a sultry June evening amidst the chaos of road closures, people came from far and wide to indluge in a secret pleasure. They had heard on the grapevine that the Fishies and thier friends were devising an evening of merriment to raise vital funds for thier proud parents the Pink Singers. Dressing rooms were still improving and the atmosphere electric as the delightful techies twidled thier knobs and raised thier levels in preparation. Nelson Romeu kicked off to a rockin' start that got the audience jumpin. The beautiful melodies and harmonies from Thank You Driver mesmerised the audience until Paleday made them MOVE IT with thier Fabulous funky disco . The Fishes entered stage left and whipped the audience to a kitsch frenzy to end an unbelievable evening.
The Pinnacle so far has been their sellout performance at The Royal Academy of music to support The 'Incomparable' Pink Singers. The Fishies took to the emense stage in wonder, but from the first note they were in control taking the sparkling audience on a journey of self discovery. They laughed, they cried, they were strangely 'stirred' and they were FABULOUS! It was over all to soon, but never fear, the Fishies will be back with more thrills and fabulousness in the autum. In the meantime check out thier blog. x
