In the summer of 2007, BLT, Newth and Gavio started playing together as an instrumental blues band. Over the next few months, they developed solid chemistry, but noticed that the music was shifting toward progressive and rock & roll. Rather than restrict their sound, they decided to embrace all of their influences and create something that was a little more than instrumental blues music.
As 2007 came to a close, Tim was recruited as the keyboardist to add a new dimension to the band, but while the band's style was starting to take shape, there were still some missing pieces. Chris Clark joined the squad shortly after as the lead singer, and after the new year, Scott Vari, a long-time friend of BLT and Newth, completed the line-up as the second guitarist.
After months of practice and writing, Something to Shine was born as a blues-rock-progressive-metal-jazz inspired mix of original music. On September 3rd of '08, we debuted our material at the East End Cafe in Newark, DE.
We are currently writing more songs and will be playing in the Newark and Philadelphia areas, so look out for Something to Shine wherever new & local music is played!
