Not a big reader. Unless you count comic books and graphic novels. If every book was a choose-your-own-adventure or pop-up, I might read more. Here are some comics I like:
Most Batman: Dark Knight Returns. Killing Joke. Year One. I'm pretty loyal to Batman Detective and love Paul Dini. I read random Elseworld's crap for fun.
Green Lantern. Newer. Hal Jordan. Because Geoff Johns fucking rocks. Rebirth is my favorite. I also read Green Lantern Corps.
The Maxx. Hell yeah.
Y: The Last Man. Amazing. Until the end. Which I didn't like at all.
Walking Dead. Although lately it's getting to be way too much of a downer.
Kick Ass. Yes, it's new. But I like it. Bruce Wayne got his ass kicked in Year One, and look where he ended up.
Preacher. Sick, twisted, awesome.
Nightcrawler. I know all of his series' have not been that great, but I still read 'em. And he's my favorite Marvel character.
Sandman. Please someone cast me as Death. Neil? Please?
Lobo. I'm fucking serious. I love Lobo.
Uncanny X-Men. 'Nough said..
A little Hellboy and BPRD, on and off.
Excalibur. Nightcrawler.
I also read a little JLA and Brave & The Bold here and there.
And since there's no "favorite games" section, I'll go ahead and list those here as well. So I'll just call this area my nerd favs (comics and vg's):
Games
MGS4. And the whole Metal Gear series.
Persona 3 (LOVE Shin Megami Tensei)
Bioshock
God of War II
Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past
Soulcalibur IV (also love 2 on xbox)
Oddworld (all. Especially Munch's Odyssey)
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Resident Evil 4
Justice League Heroes
Shadow of the Colossus
Marvel vs Capcom
Stubbs the Zombie
House of the Dead 2
Mortal Kombat 2
Puzzle Quest
Street Fighter: The Movie. The Game.
Orange Box (esp. Portal!)
Gears of War 2
Katamari Damacy
Super Puzzle Fighter
Dead Rising
Stranglehold (because of Hardboiled)
Paperboy
Currently playing/re-playing: Gears of War 2, Valkyria Chronicles, House of the Dead. Just finished Persona 4 (Eh).
I am devoted to PS3. But also own (and rock) xbox 360, wii, DS, and various old-school systems: Sega Genesis, Gamecube, SNES. My apartment looks like a shrine to game systems and toys/action figures. Nerd? Perhaps. But I don't mind.
Heroes
They make me smile. And think. And laugh. ...Mainly laugh: Jon Stewart. David Wain. Michael Ian Black. Michael Showalter. Trey Parker. Seth MacFarlane. Stephen Colbert. Norm MacDonald. The Flight of the Conchords guys. Mitch Hedberg.
The Musical Geniuses: Danny Elfman. Tom Waits. Martin Atkins. David Bowie. Charlie Clouser. Steve Harley. Kurt Weill. Al Jourgenson. Melora Creager. Trent Reznor. Les Claypool. Mike Patton. Marc Bolan.
Filmmakers (Or, How I Learned to Cancel My Cable and Love Netflix): Chan-wook Park. Tim Burton. David Lynch. Gus Van Sant. Gregg Araki. Robert Rodriguez. Wait; I've already covered this in my "film" section. Moving on...
The OTHERS. The riff-raff. The Misc "Heroes". Obviously in no particular order: Jack Bauer. Hal Jordan. William Shatner. Barack Obama. Neil Gaiman. Rob Zombie. Don LaFontaine. Dr. Cox (Scrubs). Vivienne Westwood. Al Franken. Clara Bow. Lobo (Yes. Lobo).
I act. I play video games. I write. A watch Travel Channel. Not always in that order.
New news: I am on UGO/1UP. I also occasionally appear as a panelist on Comics on Comics...yep, talking comics (obviously). See my "books" section, below left, for favorite games and comic books.
Old news: Just spent two seasons on Arcade, on maniaTV. You could watch me talk about video games. And play video games. And generally dislike things.
A little about me: Moved to Los Angeles from Chicago, couple of years ago. Originally from small-town Michigan ("Yes! Michigan"). Hmm... I like comic books, video games, Netflix, trampolines, loud music in my car, classic (mainly pre-1972) cars, guitars, nine inch nails, cold soba noodles, pinup girls, Oddworld, cheap beer, Orion Acaba, polaroid cameras, Clive Barker, film noir, drums, Jon Stewart, 50's style diners, vodka, Tim Burton, cheeseburgers, Joss Whedon, lounge music, pinball and ski-ball, bad 80's ballads, good tattoos, bad karaoke, old Nintendo games, MST3K, scrabble, Filipino food, fast food, shoes, American slang from the 20's to the 60's.
I think that bad music gives me an inner ear infection (this means you, Maroon 5 & James Blunt....just stop whining and go away, okay?). I am half asian and half poor white trash. I was a teenage runaway who never went back home. I rarely return phone calls but I [almost] always return texts. I firmly believe there are very few things sexier than a man in all black. Grrr. I say "fuck"...a lot. Fuck. I pick fights, burn bridges, but never hold a grudge. I wish I could sleep more. I believe that dark, biting sarcasm, ill-placed humor, and false confidence make up for almost anything else that life throws out there (is that healthy?). Most of what I say is sarcastic bullshit, so don't take me seriously. Ever.
Who I'd like to meet:
Solid Snake, Luc Van Acker, Trey Parker, Jon Stewart, Christopher Walken, Space Ghost, Oprah Noodlemantra, Kitana (MK) - so that she can teach me her badassery, Pepopo the ferret, small-town folks, and other midwesterners who are way too cool for the midwest. Oh, and I like smart, funny people, m'kay?
