Old-Skool Industrial aesthetic, raw stripped-down early Goth, Somnium7 cuts through the fluff like shots on a crowded subway platform. Virginia Beach's Somnium Seven takes goth and replaces it's flowery romanticism with the real-life morbidity of urban blight and economic warfare. Then they take industrial and jam its gears into reverse to before the viral contamination of the glo-stick-techno fad. Then with a new streetwise sensibility and a sharp sociopolitical outlook the two genres are poured into a new mold shaped by the chaos of random noise. The end result is a new kind of fusion, irradiated with originality and sparking with new life.
The views expressed in Somnium7's
"music" are views formed over years of individualistic thought.
Views untainted by the mass-media engine which confounds our ability to
distinguish fact from fiction. There is no religious, racist or sexist
ideology involved. Simply the pure sociological truth about the worlds
societies, the habits of mankind and our relationships with each other
as human beings in an increasingly mechanized environment.
LMAO!!!!! So he told you about my little, well BIG, reptilian friends, huh? I'm gonna have to listen hun, because I don't want those damn creatures gettin me!!!!!

Hi Mike, How's it going? I hope your spring has been going well. I like the newer tracks you have posted, especially Aphasia Complex. The intro sounds like a miniature spacecraft entering a pulsating hornets nest. Well take care, and keep up the good work. Kevin
A banner I do need for August Rain & Gothique Factory site. Also wondering what have become of S7 cd at the plant. Still in process in pressing? Want a copy for review. Also will be interviewing soon. Planning to move to Philadelphia, PA. Going have to get used to the COLD and HIGH COST of LIVING. Oh God! I do like it up there though. More places to go and visit than in Birmingham.

Hey thanx for the props on my lil industrial mix. :0) I sure had fun making it.. couldn't find everything I wanted to put on but there's some cool tunes in there I think. rarrr!! lol
Indrid Cold II sounds powerful! An austere edge to it. I Like that fuzzy guitar that cuts in to the mix about seven and ½ minutes in, and the high end arpeggiating keyboard sounds sweet too / cool juxtaposition of the contrasting sounds. Listening to Aphasia Complex now - very intricate arrangement I like it! This is going to sound odd but It reminds me of Ministry covering Bauhaus. Which is an immensely cool idea the more I think about it. How do you get those drums as in ‘Sculpture of Despair’? Run through an overdrive or distortion pedal? As always great manipulation of texture and atmosphere on all these my friend. Indrid Cold joins a powerful line up of songs. Looking back at my comment from last month I must say the AKAI still looks intimidating. My KORG is being used to …..I believe half of one percent of its capabilities. LOL But Damn good fun, I have started recording tracks with it ~ it’s a brave new world. I should be posting Re-Mastered versions of Silver Lincoln Town and other songs shortly.

What's up S7? Came by to holla at you. Just recorded some more new tracks. I re-did my whole webpage and post up three new songs. The new project I'm working on is August Rain. Let me know what you think. LOVE YOU!
Hi Folks, I'm digging Dissolve! and that AKAI looks like a serious piece of Equipment ~ I'd be lost, I've tried to run tricky stuff like that before but it puzzles my noggin. Enjoy the weekend my friends!
Still digging your music and anxiously awaiting your album. Your list of influences blows me away - nice to know some of us who grew up in such an exciting time are still trying to do something creative. Love your description of the goth chicks....Ian Curtis was dead 10 years before they were even born or the word was invented.
Ian died, Mt. St. Helens erupted and I graduated from high school all at the same time.
Then I had a stroke the day I found out Syd Barrett died.
Hi debs Thank you for the very sweet words about Kingdom, Have a wonderful week my friend. Here is a picture of a baby harp seal atop a lemon meringue pie for no specific reason ~
Just wanted to stop in and see what's new on your page. Haven't been here in a while. I've got some new songs up on my profile as well. You should stop in and check them out if you haven't yet. I also have a new official web site its www. braddraconis. com Thanx! Drac.
