Desde 1997 PROFETAS se ha convertido en una de las agrupaciones esenciales para entender la nueva música urbana en Latinoamérica. La fusión de la música afrocolombiana, el reggae, el rock y una fuerte base de hip hop le ha servido a la banda para hacerse a un buen número de seguidores en Latinoamérica y en algunos países europeos como Alemania y Austria.
El dúo conformado por la cantante africana Antombo Langangui y el colombiano Pablo Fortaleza, ha recibido los mejores comentarios de la crítica mediática, ya en 2001 el periódico el Tiempo de Colombia los presentaba como la revelación del hip hop colombiano luego de su presentación en Hip Hop al Parque. La agrupación en la que participan músicos de diferentes tendencias es un colectivo multicultural que ha participado en festivales como , Hip Hop Al Parque Bogota 2001 y 2005, Rastazo Bogota 2005, La Fete de la Musique Medellín 2004 y 2005, y Bogota 2006, Rock al Parque 2009, Reggaejam Alemania 2008,European Summer University alemania 2008. Además de haber compartido escenario con Gondwana de Chile, Junior Reid de Jamaica, Tanya Stephens Jamaica, Culcha Candelade Alemania, los Cafres de Argentina, Michael Rose de jamaica, METHOD MAN (USA) entre otros.
EN 2008 profetas realiza dos giras europeas,, En invierno sirviendo de soporte a la agrupación Culcha Candela en su gira Hamma y en Verano participando en reconocidos festivales como el Reggaejam de Alemania, El Reggaebenefiz, El afrolatin day en Berlín, y el encuentro de la universidad de verano organizado por la ATTAC en Saarland Alemania. Durante estas giras profetas hizo 25 conciertos en más de 20 ciudades de toda Europa. Además Profetas resulto ganador en el European Reggae Contest en su versión Alemana, concursando con mas de 400 agrupaciones europeas.
Para el 2009 PROFETAS toca junto a el famoso dúo de Hip Hop norteamericano METHOD MAN Y RED MAN y promociona “Baila” el primer sencillo del álbum del mismo nombre, después del éxito de su primer disco Amor y Fortaleza, Profetas prepara BAILA un disco que será definitivo!!!!!
PROFETAS na..t en 1997 quand trois mc’s, deux colombiens Pablo Fortaleza et J Bivor, et un am..ricain Real One, on d..cid.. d’unir ses efforts pour d..velopper un projet musical qui pr..tendait une proposition innovatrice, tant dans la musique comme dans les lyriques, pour le croissant mouvement de Hip Hop colombien de l’..poque.
Avec le d..part de deux des int..grants .. la recherche des projets ind..pendants, et l..arriv..e du talent f..minin l’actuelle formation se consolide dans l’ann..e 2000. PROFETAS est depuis lors le duo conform.. par Antombo Langangui, chanteuse Centrafricaine resid..e en Colombie et leader vocal du groupe, et Pablo Fortaleza, mc afro-colombien qui dirige le projet et ..crit la plupart des chansons.
PROFETAS joue avec les sonorit..s traditionnelles de l..Afrique (pays d’origine d’une de ces chanteuses et de plusieurs musiciens invit..s), de la m..me mani..re, la tonalit.. du groupe est inond..e par la musique latine, les sons afro-colombiens et afro-cara..bes (comme le Reggae et le Dancehall). Ces influences en somme avec l’imposante ..nergie du Hip Hop font de PROFETAS une des plus nouvelles et attrayantes propositions dans le sc..nario national.
En 2001, PROFETAS a ..t.. invit.. (avec ADN) .. un festival de Hip Hop organis.. par le Instituto Distrital de Cultura y Turismo de Bogot.., apr..s sa pr..sentation qui a ..t.. un grand succ..s le journal El Tiempo les a catalogu..s comme le groupe r..v..lation de l’..v..nement. Depuis lors le groupe a port.. sa musique .. travers des bars, places et parcs autour de la Colombie par milieu d’ innombrables pr..sentations entre lesquelles il vaut la peine de remarquer celle du Centro de Convenciones Gonzalo Jimenez de Quesada en 2002, et un ..v..nement d..di.. a la mode de la capital. Ils ont aussi ..t.. invit..s en deux occasions (2004 et 2005) .. la F..te de la Musique aux concerts organis..s par l Alliance Francaise .. Medell..n. En plus ils ont particip.. .. la nuit de Dance Hall du festival Reggae Colombia en 2005, avec des artistes de l’importance de Junior Reid (ex Black Uhuru). Ils ont aussi fait partie des festivals comme le Rastazo et Hip Hop al parque 2005.
En 2006 ils ont particip.. aux concerts de ALIKA et PABLO MOLINA (TODOS TUS MUERTOS), il ont ..t.. pr..sents au FESTIVAL HIP HOP de SOACHA, et en plus ils ont ..t.. invit..s pour accompagner .. MAD LION pendant son tour par la Colombie, de m..me ils ont fait partie du select groupe d’artistes nationales et internationales qui ont particip.. a la F..te de la Musique organis..e par l’Alliance Fran..aise .. Bogot...
Le talent et l’effort ont aid.. pour que ce jeune groupe est parvenu .. travailler avec des importants artistes du Hip Hop .. niveau international, comme le reconnue chanteur de New York Afu-Ra et The pervertid Monks. Aussi avec le californien Main Flow, le groupe fran..ais Le Front Verval, Raszcals (Canad..), et le d..j.. cit.. Junior Reid (Jamaica), Dj Will (Alemagne),TRIKY TUNES (Angleterre), Doctor Kr..pula, Alerta (Colombie) et plusieurs groupes de diff..rents genres qui vont du Hip Hop jusque le Ska, le Reggae et la musique Colombienne.

Since 1997 Profetas has become one of the essential groups to understand the new urban music in Latin America. The fusion of Afro-Colombian music, reggae, rock and a strong basis of hip hop has helped the band to get a good number of followers in Latin America and some European countries such as Germany and Austria.
The duo composed of the African singer Antombo Langangui and the Colombian MC Pablo Fortaleza, has received outstanding comments by music critics: already in 2001, the Colombian newspaper EL TIEMPO presented them as the revelation of Colombian hip hop, after the band's live presentation at Hip Hop al Parque (the most important hip hop festival in Latinoamerica with around 100.000 visitors).
PROFETAS, a multicultural band with members of different origins and with different musical backgrounds, have so far participated in festivals such as Hip Hop al Parque 2001 and 2005, Rastazo Bogota 2005, La Fete de la Musique in Medellin 2004 and 2005 and in Bogota 2006, Rock al Parque 2009, Reggaejam Germany 2008, European Summer University Germany 2008.
In addition they have shared the stage with Gondwana from Chile, Junior Reid, Michael Rose and Tanya Stephens from Jamaica, Culcha Candela from Germany, Alborosie from Italy, Los Cafres from Argentina, and Method Man (Wutang Clan) from the USA, among others.
In 2008, PROFETAS toured Europe twice, first in spring as opening act of Culcha Candela's “Hamma” tour and later in summer participating in recognized festivals like the Reggaejam in Germany, the Reggaebenefiz, the Afrolatin Day in Berlin, and the Summer University Convention organized by ATTAC in Saarland, Germany. During these tours PROFETAS played 25 concerts in more than 20 cities all over Europe.
In addition, PROFETAS won the German version of the European Reggae Contest, competing with more than 400 European bands. In 2009, PROFETAS supported the Latinamerica Tour of the famous American rappers METHOD MAN and RED MAN, and promoted their new single BAILA on radio stations and at live concerts around Colombia. After the success of their first record Amor y Fortaleza (Love and Strength), PROFETAS are preparing BAILA, their new groundbreaking album!
