SONAMULATE (Pronounced 'Son - am - you - late') based on the English term 'somnambulate' - meaning: To Sleep Walk.
Sonamulate was created in 2002 as a solo artist featuring only Justin Banks, and after EP Album "The Rise Of The Fallen" was recorded in January 2006, Justin claimed 1st prize in the Rock and Alternative category of the 2006/2007 Unisong International Songwriting Competition.
Not wasting any time, Justin recruited Michael Miller(Guitars) Hamsy (Bass) and Damien McCluer (Drums) to form the band Sonamulate.
The 2006/2007 10th Annual Unisong International Songwriting competition, Sonamulate won 1st place in Rock and Alternative with their self titled song 'Sonamulate' - they beat over 7000 other songwriters world wide in that catagory. in the same competition, oddly enough Sonamulate also won top 20 in R&B and Hip hop with their Nu-metal rap song 'One Way Ticket'
Then a Shocking turn of events in 2007 Justin again won 1st place in Rock and Alternative for the 11th Annual Unisong International Songwriting competition with the gritty heavy Rock song: 'Desolate' - Justin is the only person ever to win 1st place more than once. 2 years in a row however will be tough to beat for many years to come. ( it is possible no one has ever done that before in any competition of this magnetude )
Sonamulate created a BandSpace profile, so there was music the fans could listen to for free, and after only 1 year, the profile claimed over 30,000 site views and well over 133,000 song plays. This brought Sonamulate into the top 14 bands on Bandspace WORLD WIDE from every genre, in the short space of only one year.
The EP "The Rise of the Fallen" is being released late 2007 and will feature the following tracks:

2. Signed My Life Away
3. Memories Fade
4. Desolate
5 One Way Ticket
