SKO contribute a track for the new album by 4HERO (UK). Their classic Drum'n'Bass tune "Universal Love" was re-recorded by the Orchester in a brandnew acoustic version with extensive arrangements and additional lyrics. It will be released on their new album "Extensions" in October 2009, together with contributions by several other artists around Europe.

The DEBUT ALBUM of SKO, entitled "Guaranteed Niceness", was released in 2008, featuring original tunes by Ame, Clara Hill, Jazzanova, Thief, , Micatone, Meitz and others, further vocal appearances by Georg Levin (Wahoo), Lisa Bassenge and Thief. Arranged and produced by Volker Meitz. Watch out for more concerts in 2008/09...
Sonarkollektiv Orchester was founded in 2007, the year of the 10th anniversary of the Sonarkollektiv label.
SKO is a 15 piece all star band, the personnel consisting of recording artists and performing musicians connected to the label, enhanced by further local musicians resembling the finest of their craft ;-)
3 VOCALS, 4 STRINGS, 3 HORNS and a full RHYTHM SECTION.
SKO's repertoire is a cross selection of tunes from the SK label back catalogue, the original styles of which cover a wide range from deep house and broken beats to reggae and experimental hip hop. The new arrangements for an orchestra, including many acoustic instruments, put the tunes into an orchestral context and provide a brand new listening experience [nicely formulated eh?! ;-)]

Thanks for adding me on. So I bought a download this morning while at home in Brooklyn and listened to the music on the train while rolling through the green countryside on my way to Pennsylvania in the late afternoon. What a beautiful soundtrack and it lifted me so high!
