Sonas is a recording studio based in Killarney, Co. Kerry, Ireland. Run by musician and engineer, Tony O'Flaherty, it has been operating since 1994. The studio is based around a mac pro running Pro tools 8 and Logic pro 8. Monitoring is provided by Adam s3a's and FAR DBW80s. Mics by Neumann (U87, KM84), AKG (414s), Audio technica (AT4050), Milab, Shure, DPA and many more. The recording system is enhanced by numerous plug-ins by waves, sonnox, synthogy, native instruments, celemony and many many more. Sound treatment by GIK acoustics. The studio has many instruments including synths, midi controllers, acoustic and electric guitars, basses, flutes, clarinet, saxophone, whistles, accordion and uilleann pipes. All instruments are also played by engineer, Tony, if needed on a track. Clients of the studio include: John Spillane (double platinum selling 'Irish songs we learned at school), Mick Flannery, Seamus Begley and Jim Murray (Ragairne and Eiri go la), Ger Wolfe, Damien Rice (Drum sessions for 'O', EMI records Ireland, Other Voices and many more.
