Son del Llano revives the classic sounds of 1950’s and 60’s Havana, mingled with original salsa and elegant boleros. Fresh and authentic, drawing inevitable comparisons to the Buena Vista Social Club, the group’s arrival on the Lincoln, Nebraska music scene is causing heads to turn. Son del Llano features the distinctive vocals and trés stylings of René Paula. Before moving to the US, René was a mainstay on the Cuban music scene, performing with legendary artists such as Beny Moré, Felix Chappotín, and Miguelito Cuní. The group is rounded out by a complement of Lincoln’s top musicians.

Hey there guys - great to hear that Latin music is alive and well in Nebraska! It's been 15 years since I was in the State - is Bloomfield still "the busy city"?!? Must dig out my well-worn Cornhuskers T-shirt in your honour. Oh, and thanks for the add, i'll be posting 3 new reviews in next couple of days.
