About me: This page is dedicated to connecting folks from the Rio Grande Valley to the world of son jarocho, specifically to the work of the movimiento jaranero, which has spent the last 20 years working to keep the music and culture of the son jarocho from passing into oblivian.
In the blog section, you will find links to online son jarocho pages and resources.
The music section includes son jarocho groups that have dedicated themselves to preserving and spreading son jarocho in its many traditional forms.
The movie section will be updated to include films and videos that teach son jarocho and discuss issues relevant to the movimiento jaranero.
In the books section you will find written resources, some available for purchase online, others a bit more difficult to track down. You may contact me (insertmusichere @ mail.com) to aquire copies of some of the listed materials.

exit the expressway at the alamo rd exit. go south on alamo rd. drive for a while and pass ridge road and then pass el gato rd. when you come to a gas station called danny's, (on the corner of alta vista and alamo) go to the next street (Jon) and turn left. the number is 909 and it is the third or fourth house before the street ends.
