About Song And Structure / Architects Son

The idea of a structure containing an identity or soul is not so different from the idea of a song containing an identity or soul. The feelings inspired by certain songs may be similair to those inspired by certain structures or buildings.

The idea behind this myspace is for people to come up with simple associations between buildings and songs and leave them as comments.

Anyone can make these associations: Listeners, music lovers, bands or songwriters! Leave them as comments on this myspace. They can be songs you love to listen to, or songs you have written. It is html enabled so please upload pics of the buildings if you fancy it!

I am Karim Fanous, a singer/songwriter and the son of architect Nabil Fanous. I started this music and buildings / song and structure idea when I recently began looking into my creative heritage on my father's side. I saw a parallel between his structural creativity and my musical instincts. The link is the idea that the same emotions, feelings and experiences can be derived by looking at structures, as when listening to music. Musical and structural soul!

The immediate song and structure idea that comes to my mind is that of the Great Architect of the Universe: Psalm 19:1 "The heavens declare the glory of G-d, and the earth shows His architecture" (paraphrased).
