I'm a minister, a songstress, a published author, a wife, a mother, a sister, a friend, a graphic designer, & a spitfire, walking in the vision God gave me for full-time ministry. So there.
So stop in and sit a spell at Songbird's place. Check out my pics, videos, and blogs. Send me a shout-out. Rock to some anointed tracks. Stop by my website: www.abbyphillips.com, browse around, and sign my guestbook.
Oh, and have a piece of cyber sweet potato pie. It's in the kitchen on the stove. You know where the plates are.

VERSE: "God you have enlarged me in my time of distress." (Psalm 4:1)
THOUGHTS: Before you are going to see your dreams come to pass, you have to be prepared for promotion. The way you respond in your time of adversity shows your readiness to take the next step. Believing that God will sustain you during your difficult time builds your faith and will take you to new levels of victory.
David said in Psalm 4:1: "God you have enlarged me in my time of distress." God will never waste a trial, but uses them to "enlarge" you and make you stronger. Resistance builds strength, and you must resist the defeat that the enemy tries to bring. Stand strong in the face of your adversity. Speak God's Word over your situation and declare that you have the victory! Sing a song of praise and thank the Lord for His everlasting faithfulness. Know that with the Lord on your side, you will come out stronger, and experience victory in every area of your life!
PRAYER: God, I praise Your name even in the midst of adversity. Thank you for your sustaining strength and perfect purpose for my life. No matter what trials are before me I will have faith in you and never doubt Your love for me. I know I will be stronger on the other side and experience complete victory! In Jesus' name – Amen.
VERSE: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13)
THOUGHTS: Have you ever thought about giving someone a compliment and just didn't do it? Perhaps you have put off writing that special thank-you note? Maybe you've resisted the "feeling" you've had about visiting the doctor or starting that exercise program. There are many reasons why we neglect doing the things that we know we should do. Maybe we don't think they are necessary, or we are just too busy and don't want to take the time.
Every time we hear that prompting from the Holy Spirit, the devil loves to whisper in our ear, "you can't do that," "you're too busy," "people don't care what you think." Let me encourage you to stop believing the lies of the enemy!
Philippians 4:13 declares, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." With Jesus' help, you can do anything. Don't put off doing the things you know the Lord has instructed you to do. When you do your part and step out in faith, God will do His. As you are obedient, God will pour out his blessings and favor on you and you will experience the abundant life He has for those who trust Him.
PRAYER: I want to be still and listen to You. I will put aside all the distractions so that I am able to hear the whispers of the Holy Spirit inside me. Lead
VERSE: "You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours." (Psalms 128:2)
THOUGHTS: Did you know that having a life full of joy and fulfillment is a matter of choice? Many people are not living in victory today because they have walked around with a chip on their shoulder. They are constantly complaining, always dwelling on what they don't have or focusing on their problems.
Let me encourage you to stay out of that trap. Wake up every morning and begin each new day by counting your blessings. Take time to make a list. Write down at least 10 things that you are thankful for. Whatever your situation in life, find things to add to the list.
Keep your list in a place where you can see it every day. When you feel yourself getting negative, when you're beginning to get discouraged, check your list; read it out loud. Focus on all the blessings that God has given you. Begin to thank Him for what He has already done for you and for all that He has in store for your future.
Give God an offering of thanksgiving every day. As you begin to express your appreciation and praise to the Lord, you will begin to see Him pour out His blessings and favor in greater portions, and you'll experience the overcoming life of victory He has in store for you.
PRAYER: God, I am making the decision today to be a grateful person! You have richly blessed me and I am going to count those blessings everyday. When I make a daily list of 10, it will be in honor of You. In Jesus' name – Amen.
VERSE: "Be confident in this: He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it in you." (Philippians 1:6)
THOUGHTS: Do you have a vision of victory for your life? Do you know that God desires to do great and mighty things in your life? But in order to fulfill God's plan, you must first see yourself the way God sees you–growing and prosperous in every area.
Where you are in life today is a direct reflection of your past thoughts about yourself. You are not able to rise above your own self-image. But no matter what your current situation, you can change your self-image by meditating on God's Word and spending time with Him.
Begin today to see yourself the way God sees you. He sees you as an overcomer, more than a conqueror, and a champion in life. He sees you as the head, and not the tail. He sees you above, and not beneath. He sees you growing and excelling, and living a life of victory!
As you begin to change your self image and see yourself living the life God has for you, you will experience His fulfillment, peace, and power.
PRAYER: God, I was made in Your image and that means I am a conqueror and can do all things! Thank you for Your confidence in me. I am going to stay focused on Your loving plan for my life. In Jesus' name, Amen.
