Songbird Calling is a CD produced in the heart of Redfern, at StudioRCC – Redfern Community Centre's recording studio. It proudly showcases new songs from emerging and locally known Aboriginal artists and includes contributing work from other local writers and performers, all with connections to the local area. Songbird Calling represents a remarkable cross-section of sounds, stories and personalities, and shows off the vibrant creative energy being drawn to this significantly Aboriginal area – a place with its own tough history. 'Songbird Calling', a very special limited release CD calling out to be heard. Available to purchase for a donation price of $15. Postal purchases can be made by emailing your request to: studiorcc@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au Enquiries and comments also welcome to this address. Counter sales are available at the City of Sydney Neighbourhood Service Centre, 158 Redfern Street, Redfern. All funds received from sales go to future development and promotional projects at Redfern Community Centre supporting local songwriters and musicians. 'Songbird Calling' was produced to promote the work of the artists. The Redfern Community Centre is a facility of the City of Sydney. The artists thank them for their support to this project.
