Songdog are really all about the songs. Dark, literate songs sung from the prison-cell of the heart (from where you can sometimes see just as far as from the top of any mountain). Lyndon & Karl are from Blackwood, Wales, Dave from Dundee, Scotland. They self-released their debut album 'The Way Of The World', followed by 'Haiku' (originally released through Evangeline). Songdog signed to One Little Indian in 2005, releasing the critically-acclaimed 'The Time Of Summer Lightning' (2005) & 'A Wretched Sinner's Song' (2008). They are currently working on a new album, due early 2010.
Songdog combine acoustic and electronic instruments to create soundscapes for singer/songwriter (and former award-winning playwright) Lyndon Morgans's vignettes on life, love and loss. Their albums 'The Time Of Summer Lightning' and 'A Wretched Sinner's Song' received great press, and plays on Jonathan Ross's BBC Radio 2 show and John Kennedy's XFM show amongst others. They've had 4 tracks on Uncut Magazine covermount CDs over the last couple of years (including their cover of Dylan's 'Desolation Row' which was commissioned for the Uncut 100th birthday issue).
Fans include Bruce Springsteen, who used their track 'Days of Armageddon' (from 'Haiku') for "walk in music" on his European tour and personally requested a copy of the last album. Live dates include shows at the Roundhouse Studio, Bush Hall, Union Chapel, ICA and Spitz, supporting Joan As Police Woman at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, appearances at the Analog Festival, Dublin, Wireless, Guilfest, TDK Cross Central and Secret Garden festivals and supporting the Go-Betweens on their last UK tour. They have also appeared at international festivals in Canada, Spain, Sweden, Holland and Russia.
Hey there, Here's one from left field... Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat? A while back I came across some very disturbing information, which inspired me to make this video: Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaIim3Rj7L4 Both artistic (ensure you've good enough sound to enjoy the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice. Though the source materials are somewhat aged, the fundamentals remain relevant today. I encourage all to visit the YouTube web page above to learn more (Show your support! Rate! Comment!) and responsibly re-post and circulate as widely as possible. Help to raise awareness. Say have you checked out my web site (http://www.faberoptime.com) recently? Take care and keep in touch. Best, Faber. "Just a guy trying to make the world a better place. "
Good to hear the new songs (I'm still sad I couldn't buy a 'real' copy of the Xmas single!). Anyway, looking forward to the new album and, hopefully, a gig or two I can attend soon. Love,Caryne
