Songs for the Cause was founded after NJ songwriter Deb Ferrara experienced the unexpected. Her sister, Lynn, was diagnosed with breast cancer and lost her 3-year battle to the disease in November 2000. Deb spent endless hours researching for information and answers when she came across the Susan G. Komen Foundation web site. She will never forget the impact of the story she read about the promise made between two sisters. Nancy Brinker, the co-founder of the Susan G. Komen Foundation, made a promise to her sister, Suzy, that she would do everything possible to bring an end to breast cancer. "A sister doing for a sister." Needless to say, it stuck with Deb.
Songs for the Cause is a benefit concert to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. It is a true labor of love that Deb has dedicated to keep her sister's memory forever in her heart and to do her part in assisting with the Komen Foundation's mission... to end breast cancer as a life-threatening disease.
Songs for the Cause has already raised and donated close to $30,000.00 to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation (North Jersey Affiliate) through ticket sales, sponsor ads and celebrity auction items. Our previous silent auctions have featured autographed items from Norah Jones, Melissa Etheridge, George Thorogood, Bonnie Raitt, Gavin DeGraw, Carole King, Pink, Maroon 5, Bon Jovi, The Edge, BB King, Beyonce and many more.

Here's a video that was captured of me offering my bottleneck slide interpretation of an old blues song, Goin' T' Brownsville, on open mic night at Old Strokers in Everett, WA. It starts out with me briefly introducing my homemade "Nobro" resophonic guitar and explaining some of the various recycled garage sale junk that I used in it's construction. Enjoy!
"SURELY WE CAN'T LET THIS SITUATION CONTINUE.. CAN WE?" A MESSAGE FOR US ALL FROM SIR DAVID FROST REGARDING PHOTO DYNAMIC THERAPY CANCER TREATMENT.
With much due respect, sometimes I have to ask myself why there has been no support from ANY of the Cancer Awareness Sites for the treatment of Photo Dynamic Therapy that is clearly outlined on my page.
Sir David Frost asks the same question in his message and he hopes (as we do) that all Cancer Awareness & Support Networks back this treatment 100%.
Please listen carefully and hear what Sir David has to say in this brief message - and be aware that although PDT is not widely licensed for use, it IS NOW Licensed in the USA for the FIRST TIME and patients can now consider this option as a far less invasive and far more successful treatment for breast, skin and prostate cancers in particular. Please.... read my page carefully and see our official website at www.pdtcancertreatment.com
A monumental leap forward in cancer treatment has now taken place.
Pink ribbons will not cure cancer. PDT has a significantly high success rate in doing so.
With much respect... please help us to save suffering and save lives by sharing & using this knowledge, and also by becoming a true campaigner with us for Photo Dynamic Therapy - a successful cancer treatment which has been kept hidden for far too long. Again, we must ask "surely, we can't let this situation continue, can we?” Peace to your home, Gabriella, INDIANA CENTER, ADVANCED MEDICINE.
