Music is part of my life and I cannot imagine a life without it. As a young girl, music filled the silence that often was looming in my house growing up. ( Floyd, Peter, Paul, and Mary were often played in our house as well....) When I heard music playing, everything felt safe in my world. Music brought me peace, joy, and upliftment.
During my teenage years, all my babysitting money and allowance went towards 45's. I had a collection unlike anyone else I knew. I could blow anyone out of the water playing "Name that tune" "Guess the artist" . I still can..... I used to lay in bed and listen to the Saturday Night Love Connection on the radio, dreaming and fantasizing about that "someday" love of my life..... And later, music always helped heal my broken heart, each time..... And when new love would appear........music made it all that more juicy....
As a young adult, lacking self esteem and dealing with some body issues, disco music became the catalyst that inspired me to learn to dance. I quickly won competitions and gained self confidence. Still love to move my body to those 80's dance tunes...
I took extraordinary time in selecting the music for my wedding day.
Whenever I travel, I like to find a new artist and then later when I hear their music, I re-experience my vacations.
I learned early on that it matters not if you are the maker of music or the appreciator of the musician. Since I was gvien a polite rejection after the chorus tryouts and wasn't motiviated or disciplined to practice my clarinet daily, I knew I was the later.
My music collection is an extention of me. Eclectic. I share what I love with those I love.
Music was my pathway to discovering a connection with Spirit. I am continually in awe of how much talent is present around me. The musicians I have been exposed to and have come to know thru Unity Churches have inspired me and touched my soul with their work on a level I never knew possible. I want to share them with you. Please join me in supporting them so they may continue to share their gifts and sing to the world.
