Song Guy's Facebook profile

At the age of nine, I had already ripped off and re-written Surfer Girl by the Beach Boys

Studied songwriting and developed professionally under Len Chandler, John Braheny and Al Kasha. As a performer, pursued a solo career until the 1975 formation of the band Shelter, which cut my tune Bridge Builder on the compilation album Come Back Soon and enjoyed a good measure of success in Northern California.

In the 1980s Shelter went separate ways and I moved on to other pursuits until the 90s when I found myself becoming more prolific in my songwriting. This led to the recording of my first solo album New Clothes. The album enjoyed airplay on several cuts and is available for sale at http://cdbaby.com/cd/i194_12311.

The album launched me into a more active role in the music business, developing my songwriting, marketing, promotion, career management, and other aspects of the music business. I then started sharing what I was learning with developing artists.

Performing credits include opening appearances for Johnny Rivers, Leonard Nimoy, Len Chandler and Al Jarreau. Featured act as a soloist and with two bands: Doug Robertson and Company and max Yasgurs Farm at Harrahs Reno, Sierra Arts Gallery, John Ascuagas Nuggets Rib Cook Off, Reno Hiltons Garage, Art Town, Great Basin Brewery, and many other clubs and venues in the Northern Nevada and California's Sierra.

Now I head up Nostrebor Music and produce other musical acts. Record production credits include Doug Robertsons New Clothes, the debut CD for the band Zero Theory, whos extensive international and national (over 100 US cities) airplay on three of their cuts has resulted in top 40 placement on national indie charts, and max Yasgur's Farm's new album SALUTE.

Other production credits include televised showcase performances with Doug Robertson and Company and max Yasgurs Farm

An active ASCAP member and co-coordinator for the Nashville Songwriters Association International local workshop Northern Nevada Songwriters Workshop.

I’m just stopping by to say “Thanks for being in my Circle of MySpace Friends”, and to hopefully make you smile today.

The Bathtub Test

During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director how do you determine whether or not a patient should be institutionalized.

"Well," said the Director, "we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask him or her to empty the bathtub."

"Oh, I understand," said the visitor. "A normal person would use the bucket because it's bigger than the spoon or the teacup."

"No" said the Director, "A normal person would pull the plug. Do you want a bed near the window?"

ARE YOU GOING TO PASS THIS ON, OR DO YOU WANT THE BED NEXT TO MINE ?

Hope you have a Wonderful Day!

Your presence is a present to the world.
You’re unique and one of a kind.
Your life can be what you want it to be.
Take the days just one at a time.
Count your blessings, not your troubles.
You’ll make it through whatever comes along.
Within you are so many answers.
Understand, have courage, be strong.
Don’t put limits on yourself.
So many dreams are waiting to be realized.
Decisions are too important to leave to chance.
Reach for your peak, your goal, and your prize.
Nothing wastes more energy than worrying.
The longer one carries a problem, the heavier it gets.
Don’t take things to seriously.
Live a life of serenity, not a life of regrets.
Remember that a little love goes a long way.
Remember that a lot..... goes forever.
Remember that friendship is a wise investment.
Life’s treasures are people.... together.
Realize that it’s never too late.
Do ordinary things in an extraordinary way.
Have health and hope and happiness.
Take the time to wish upon a star.

Believe that I am a person who really does care about you, tho we have never met.

Wishing you many blessings,
Ninure da Hippie

This is what music is all about! As Guns 'n Roses guitar player Slash famously quipped: "Whenever society gets too stifling and the rules get too complex, there's some sort of musical explosion.
