Corneilius, singer/songwriter, guitarist, dj, producer and writer is a folk musician/philosopher and activist whose primary concern is the honest exploration of the issues arising from the conditioning of children as sanctioned by the state, by commerce and by religion.
His bye line is "Do what you love, it's your gift to universe' and it means that all natural beings gift the habitat, gift each other, gift life by being their true selves .... carrots, bananas, walnuts all do their thing perfectly, happily.. no need for adverse conditioning then, is there?
In essence Corneilius says Industrial Societies DO NOT TRUST CHILDREN and mess with their minds - and that's extremely rude, and abusive. Stop it NOW!
See the videos on this page for more....
Corneilius performs solo, with a loop station and at times with other musos and vocalists...
Cogs is a one man art pop unit created by PATRICK WRAY, that first came to prominence with the 2005 album 'Laughter and Footsteps'. The album was heavily played on WFMU and Resonance FM and received positive reviews. Since Cogs live debut in 2007 they have performed several explosive shows with their unique , esoteric songs. Cogs released a new album 'New Primitive' in 2008.
Local Girl Saves Planet AKA Caroline Clifford hails from East London's 'Hackney' and writes songs about men with big faces, her irrational fear of leaves, impending armageddon, gary glitter's paedo boat and other things. It's all set to indie folk rhythms and insanely catchy melodies.
Glitter Daisies are a new band that have a made their impact on the London acoustic circuit by blending soulful vocals and catchy lyrics with jazzy chords and funky guitar playing. Ebe Oke was born in South Georgia in the deep South of America. From an early age his artistic practice has been multi-disciplinary with work in many media including photography, design, performance, poetry, video, and storytelling, though his oeuvre is perhaps focused primarily on making music. Mixing a sense of mythological backstory with the tradition of art song Ebe Oke is a kind of Renaissance artist for the new if quickly aging millennium. Among his broad range of aesthetic ingredients are those culled from nature, for example exquisite references to birdsong, and an interest in a particular kind of cutting edge literary practice recalling Gysin and Anderson though told in an ultra-contemporary way. What distinguishes Ebe Oke from others working within similar areas of production is the personal and intimate nature of his work which is, when perfectly distilled, chilling in its abject direct simplicity.
Based in London and New York Ebe Oke, who studied under composer Karlheinz Stockhausen, has been in the studio working with producer Phil Manzanera, guitarist of Roxy Music, who he met through Rough Trade with whom he had a development deal in 2005. Ebe Oke is in the process of writing a collection of songs for an album planned for production and release in 2009. It will be dedicated to his friend the amazing Isabella Blow. The promise of this young and unique artist is a rare occurrence these days.
Spekki chris is one of North London's top 5 or 6 folk-metal-power-pop combos! They are a tight, lean folk metal machine mounting a guerrilla struggle against boring, whiny, mid-tempo, dead-girfriend, acoustic pap - both in the UK and, a bit randomly, Slovakia.
“exquisitely worked… simply great music.” Toxic Pete
“For a first full-length release, ‘Spekki Chris Is In’ is astounding.” The Muse’s Muse
Cool, confident alternative Americana from one of Londons finest. Here is what Jamie says about her music and influences. “My life goes any way the wind blows. I grew up in Hamburg and Berlin. I guess that's as Rock'n Roll as it gets for German cities. I left there when I could and lived in the UK and California, am back in London now, and that is most certainly the most Rock'n Roll city in the world. So I love it. Some days the world seems a strange place to me but music keeps me sane. Though I know some people who beg to differ and say I went off the rocker a long time ago.“
"Roxy Rawson knows how to bewitch a crowd. The classically- trained musician has been bringing her unique blend of impish violin vocals to the London gig scene for a few years. Her music is beautifully peculiar; a sweet mix of classical notes and frenzied, catch-me-if-you-can lyrics interspersed with bursts of laughter. She doesn't take herself too seriously and is original to the point of raising eyebrows; she'll pluck the violin and substitute pens for her bow. Rawson's punky fairytale music - billed as edgy anti-folk with a violin - is fabulous on its own. Comparisons to the likes of Joanna Newsom and Regina Spektor are beginning to emerge. With each show, the applause gets louder and her name gets bigger."

"Nila's fluid voice and compositional ambition absorb a range of influences from Arabic folk and jazz traditions to contemporary chillout and Indian classical flavours. Always surprising and restless by nature, Nila's work is endlessly inventive and can shift seamlessly between genres and cultural traditions with an individuality devoid of fear or contrivance. "Wandering leaf" is at times reminiscent of Joni Mitchell or Led Zeppelin (check "Battle of Evermore") where the title track "Unattached to Desire" is forged from the technical drive of a fledgling Shakti. Through a voice overflowing with nimble agility, wistful innocence and grace, Nila's debut weaves a very appealing spell. Inspired." NITIN SAWHNEY
Fronted by songwriter, singer and accordionist Tom Baker, The Bohemianauts play a repertoire of original songs referencing European cabaret, gypsy music and circus tunes. With a background in theatre and cabaret, Tom has toured extensively across Europe with his previous band Fantasmagoria, and he brings an old-fashioned style of showmanship to every performance. Expect to hear wry lyrics on subjects such as the end of the world, the loneliness of touring and the secret lizard elite, with haunting melodies and infectious rhythms. Somewhat like a less alarming, more charming version of The Tiger Lillies…

Ben has previously charmed West End crowds with his unique take on Post-Folk at venues such as The Borderline and the Heavenly Social, supporting Radio 2 Folk Awards best-newcomer Kris Drever. He’s fresh from playing Moseley Folk Festival where he supported Jose Gonzalez.
There’s quite a different sound for Ben’s first London gig with band. The Fathers are about power chords, fuzzed out guitar, lively drums and a…well, bass-ey guitar. The sounds enter Lo-Fi territory, while simultaneously clinging to and stretching the parameters of folk.

"A booty bag of avid odes to poppers, kids and wonderboys; he's an understated emancipator of lyrical wisdom."
Plan-B.
“Haunting, heart-bruising tales bitterly stumble into each other as if played by a meth-ed up, homeless Johnny Marr. The dark humour and stark honesty of Ben Calvert is paralysing, and charmingly so”
The Fly.
“Although Ben Calvert has a folk heart, it is a folk heart which has been broken on indie dancefloors to the sounds of Blur and The Smiths. An accomplished piece of art.”

Ali has toured extensively in the UK, and has supported a number of high profile acts including: Tom McRae, James Yorkeston, Jonathan Rice, Holly Golightly, Liam Frost and Captain. He has played a number of festivals including the Carling Leeds Festival and The Secret Garden Party.
Rania is a London based piano playing singer/songwriter originally from LA. Her music offers an eclectic range of influences. As a nice man named bill put it once after hearing her play at a show, he described her music as, "the passion of tango, drama of a silent film accompaniment". Drama indeed, she doesn't write anything half-heartedly. Her music is cleverly arranged, and many times very temperamental molded with brave lyrics about everything from heartbreaks, banter on politics, and her general relationship with the world. She describes her music as what it would sound like if someone with Tourette's Syndrome became a songwriter, calling it "verbal therapy". "I'm really introverted, the only time I come out and say what I really think is when I write lyrics..."
Grew up in Canada, was born in Poland and now lives in London. Arthur’s distinguished blend of Folk, country and Rock music has been gaining him a strong reputation in London and beyond, as a performer not to be missed. Enjoy the music!
Jazz-influenced alternative acoustic soul from a woman who likes to do things from the inside out.
Colin J Farley (Producer; Bassist for International Number One band Cutting Crew) affirms "There is no question as to Janna's songwriting ability. In terms of where her solo career is going, she is up there with the potential overnight success of the likes of Norah Jones."
"Beautiful and fierce, cool modern acoustic music..."
