The Songwriting Society of Australia (SSA) was incorporated in 1989 to be a voluntary, independent, non-profit incorporated organisation dedicated to helping songwriters in all genres of music and all levels of songwriting. It provides a support network for members with a variety of functions like Monthly Concerts, Darling Harbour Concerts, Newsletters, Platterlog listings for members, CDs, Workshops, Song Competitions, Discount Recording, etc.
The Society is funded by annual fees, promotional events and donations. It is organised by a voluntary committee of members. All members receive the monthly Society magazine: The Songsmith - the only monthly magazine in Australia dedicated to songwriting.
