I love history! I am a huge nerd, and I am not going to deny it. I especially love history of the Middle East, American History, and the Early Christian Church to name a few. I'm especially interested in things that are popularly misunderstood.
Music
For bellydance: Oum Khalsoum, Mohammed Abdel Wahab, Warda, Farid al-Atrache, and Abdel Halim Hafez
I like lots of other music too. I really like khaliji music (Miami Band is my favorite), Persian, lots of Latin (Orishas, Ozomatli, Molotov), Flamenco (Camaron de la Isla, Pepa de Benito) and American artists too like Tool, Primus, Range Against the Machine, Queens of the Stoneage, NIN uh, I don't know what else. Since bellydance is my only source of income that's almost the only kind of music I can "invest" in. I don't buy as much new music as I would like
About me: I am a proffessional bellydancer in the Denver area. I am regularly featured at House of Marrakech, Casablanca, Phoenician Kabob, Colorado Renaissance Festival and Habibi Hookah Cafe. I also perform at weddings, birthdays, cultural events, etc. I would describe my style as heavily Egyptian influenced American Cabaret. Other people have described my bellydancing as being especially feminine and graceful. I also perform Khaliji and Persian - I especially love Baba Karam! I have been studying Flamenco, and hope to perform that style as well some day.
