Sonia Bettencourt is a singer. She sings in English, French,
Portuguese, Italian and Spanish, and is fluent in the 3 first
languages mentioned. She has also sung in German and Latin in the
several choirs she belonged to as a child and teenager.
Born to a musically oriented family, she began singing and dancing at
a very young age, having family and friends as her audience. All
through her teenage years , she participated in Song Festivals,
winning First prizes due to her solid interpretation. She had singing
(vocal technique) lessons for a brief period when she thought about
being a Lyrical singer but she decided it wasn't the type of music she
wanted to do in her life, even though, she was very praised as a
Soprano. Always keeping her options open, and before pursuing a
full-time career in music like she is doing now, Sonia became a
plastic artist, having taken a monitor course in Decorative Painting.
You can now only find some of her art work in her house and her family
and close friends' houses because while she was having fun doing it,
she realized she prized music above that.
Even though she thinks she has her own style,when singing, she
acknowledges the influences of her Bettencourt family ( her youngest
uncle is Nuno Bettencourt from the band Extreme) as well as classical
and sacred music and singers Lara Fabian, Celine Dion, Christina
Aguilera, Shania Twain and others in that line of music. She began
singing covers at bars, always hoping to be scouted by an agent or a
producer / composer that would take an interest in her abillities as a
singer.
Through Myspace she was given the chance to prove herself in the line
of country music, when Ron Dennis Wheeler and Jeff Ridler from”The Ridler Brothers”invited her to sing “John Doe”, a song that is being released in the CD”R&R MUSIC RADIO HIT SINGLES COMPILATION” soon and already being played in the radio stations throughout the country. She found the song so appealing and was touched by the message in love in it and decided to give it her best shot in this new area.
She has just signed with the producer Patrick Jaoui and with his label”Rêve Music”.

Sonia Bettencourt est une chanteuse! Elle chante en français,anglais, portugais, italien et espagnol elle parle parfaitement les trois premières langues mentionnées. Elle appartient à une famille musicalement orientée, elle a commencé à chanter et danser très jeune. Tout au cours de ses années d'adolescente elle a participé à des festivals de chansons pour jeunes, elle a gagné des premiers prix dus a son interprétation excellente. Elle a eu des leçons de chant (technique vocale) pendant une brève période en pensant se dédier au chant lyrique ,mais elle a décidé que cela n'était pas le type de musique qu'elle souhaitait faire dans sa vie. Toujours gardant ses options ouvertes et avant de poursuivre sa carrière à plein temps dans la musique comme elle fait maintenant. Sonia est devenue une artiste "plastique" , ayant pris un cours de moniteur de peinture décorative. Vous pouvez maintenant trouver une partie de ses oeuvres d'art dans sa maison ,sa famille et ses proches,mais tandis qu'elle s'amusait a faire ses oeuvres. Elle a découvert que la musique était plus importante pour elle que la peinture en pensant à un style très personnel en chantant elle reconnaît les influences de sa famille Bettencourt. (Nuno Bettencourt,de la bande Extrême et guitare virtuosité et son oncle )Pour elle la musique est sacrée ainsi que ses chanteurs préférés ( lara fabian, céline dion, christina aguilera, shania twain et beaucoup d'autres dans cette ligne de musique. Elle a commencé a faire des cuvés, espèrent toujours être surveillée par un manager ou producteur compositeur qui prendrait en intérêt ses capacités de chanteuse. Myspace lui a été donné la chance de découvrir la music Country quand Ron Dennis et les Ridler Brothers l'on invitée à chanter le thème (john doe) une chanson qui est libérée dans le CD "R&R MUSI RADIO HIT SINGLES COMPILATION" Etant passée dans les stations de radio des USA et en Australie. Elle a trouvé la chanson si touchante et tant aimé ce message d'Amour de ce thème qu'elle a décidé de donner ses meilleurs efforts à ce nouveau type de chanson country.
En ce moment elle vient de signer un contrat avec le producteur PATRICK JAOUI et avec son label”RÊVE MUSIC”.
