Three well-known standarts elicit tears from the audience, Mein Shtetele Belz, Mein Yiddishe Mame and the lullaby Numi Numi. The rest is equally heartfelt."
Why call the show Desert Rites? "Desert is an all-encompassing image," says Falkovitch, "It's a unique place for personal development and peace of mind. Everything is layered there - the biblical experiences, the struggle for survival and the emptiness, yet there is so much in it."
