Formed in Ron McGuire's head in 1997, Sonic Blasphemy is a culmination of anger, love, pain, happiness, dispair, and disgust.
Ron McGuire has played bass guitar in a goth-punk band, lead-rythum guitar in a hardcore punk band, and lead vocals in a hardcore metal outfit. Ron has also sold copywrited lyrics to death metal bands in Cleveland, Ohio.
Ron's last live performance was in 1997 at the World Series of Metal at the Agora Theater in Cleveland, Ohio with the metal band Brawl. It was shortly after this bands' demise that Ron realized that he was far too picky about 'his' music to let others alter it in any way, and so Sonic Blasphemy was born.
Efforts on Sonic Blasphemy fell to the weyside in coming years due to Ron's heavy alcoholism. Music took a back seat to his drinking, he even pawned all his gear a few times to get money to drink. His precious custom fretless Yamaha extended neck bass and the factory-numbered 1964 Harmony Rocket were both lost during this time as well as recordings Ron made with his previous bands.
Having his last drink on May 13th, 2005, Ron has set out on an old-new dream - to produce an album of all original music under the name Sonic Blasphemy.
Man the vocals are way better here (or maybe i just like them better on this track, your pick)dig the tune.I think this track will take on more life with "live"drums,my only "criticism"(if you call it that) would be that you might want to hold back on the lead lick repitition over the verse(maybe play it more sparsley) so that it doesn't take away from your lyrics.Overall I thought this tune was very nicely done, with extra credit going to the vocals.
You can really hear the quality of production going up I think. Just like I always say: You gotta be pretty fucking dumb to get worse at something the longer you do it. You either get better or stay just as bad. :)
I thought about getting a bit more elaborate with my site here, but.... IDK... this is an outlet for my music. I kinda want it to stay sterile so less distractions I guess. :P
