   About Sonic Blue Sound Revue

MM was motivated to form another band. He approached GF (keys) and DL (guitar)to discuss working together. At a dinner meeting, it was decided he call RXH to fill the drummer's throne. RXH's interest was stimulated but surprised all by offering to take the bass slot instead. RXH asked MM if he considered CP (drums). Upon this urging, MM contacted CP. The five musicians, all friends for many years, pondered the possibilities of playing together.

Sonic Blue Sound Revue's first official rehearsal took place on March 26, 2008. They all sing, write and play various instruments. The five have long and successful music careers individually. Dave Foster was gracious enough to book Sonic Blue Sound Revue in Kenny’s Castaways for an unannounced warm-up show. The band played a full set on October 29th in front of a crowd of ten (see photos in "Secret Gig"album folder), in preparation for their official first show at the International Pop Overthrow Festival on November 7, 2008. Sonic Blue Sound Revue plan to record in the near future. Until then, the show will go on! (Greg adds): Michael and I had discussed on many occasions how hard it was to find inspired, dedicated, and available players to work with in our genre in our respective geographical areas, New York and Connecticut. Too many fruitless and tiring interviews and auditions, too many clueless wanna-bes and burned out musical mercenaries. There was discouragement in our conversations whenever the topic of bands came up, though we had had some great experiences recording and producing the "Only Hope for Winter" DVD. Finally I started to just say look, if nothing else why don't at least you and I do something, even if we have to go out with a damned drum machine. He was available, I was available, there was plenty of music and instrumental talent between us, I said, let's do SOMETHING rather than sit on our hands. Who knows what would happen once we got some momentum going? Little by little, it seems, feelers went out, conversations were had, next thing you know there were the five of us excited and wondering why we never did this before - except that such things only happen when the time is right and the planets are in the right position. And so it seems we have the momentum and the inspiration in this once in a lifetime combination of players who've known each other just about forever, and we're just out of the gate.

Hey Mike, Rich and Crew,
Thanks for the add.
Good luck on your new venture.
I hope all goes well. I won't be able to make the debut gig at Kenny's but maybe another in the future.
