All the standard instrumentalists in the rock guitar genre of course. Satch, Vai, Malmsteen, etc. And also guys from progressive rock bands in the 80s (rush, kings x, yes, etc).
I don't particularly try to emulate any one person though. Hopefully, I come through sounding, at the very least, original. I certainly TRIED to take it past where I found it.
You're either here browsing the rock music category, or you know me, either way, welcome to my little hole in the wall myspace page!
All the music here is original. Much of it is not finished, but oftentimes things eventually get done. If not, something else usually takes it's place in a state of incompletion! Anyway, many of these are pending good vocalists. Some of them were written to be instrumentals, and I've just not put the lead on them yet. I record everything with Riffworks, and use Line 6 products for amp modeling and so forth.
In some cases, songs may not be mine, but in those instances, they ARE released under a creative commons license, as they were arranged by people who collaborate on musical projects online through Riffworks/Rifflink. On songs like these, I'm almost always playing the lead or solo parts (which is why I listed them here)! At any rate, I'll typically note in my blogs when a song was a collaboration vs something of my own.
Anyway, I update occasionally, and if I get a message, it goes to an email that I check regularly, so write if you wanna say hi, and I'll say hi back!

He said he might let me come back home though. that was nice. so if I don't post anymore you'll know I'm living in a box somewhere, or maybe I could live in one close to free wi fi? call me sometime before the gov collapses
Hey man great great guitar riffs. Reminds me of Joe Satriani. I hope that wasn't an insult in case you don't care for Satriani. Do you play out anywhere?
Sorry my wife has taken to spying on my MySpace account (nothing to see here anyway lol) so when she does I don't get the comment notice, well, because she went "hmmm I guess I need to check these out!"
Sorry I just saw it a week later lol
Eddie was fantastic, best I've seen him in 15 years! My opinion the group needs to gel a bit but probably will over the tour (assuming Dave can keep his ass in his chaps).
Ok, I'll TIVO it, but just so you know, didn't really care for their PETA show. I thought they painted a very negative picture, although partially true of an organization that does 95% more for animals than most. Just an opinion. Thanks Beau!
hey I figured out the harmonics thing finally. as far as I can tell it only works on a few frets. I still can't go from hammering on to doing them though. I guess I'm to tense when doing that with my pinky. I had to put duct tape at the base of my index and pinky fingers cuz that e string is is making me bleed.
I think I will do a quick re-write of our "latest" gimme a couple days
I'm on it bro!
