Sonic Innovation
Sonic Innovation is the studio and production company of Martin Russell, best known over the last decade or so as a core member of Afro Celt Sound System. When he's not writing, recording or touring with ACSS, Martin also writes music for film and television as well as being very active as a producer / engineer, and provider of high-class mixing and CD mastering services. He's based in North London, England, and invites both contact and interesting future collaborations.
Recent stuff .... mixing and mastering of Johnny Kalsi's third Dhol Foundation CD, "Drums and Roses", arrangement and production on a duet re-working of Stevie Wonder's "Love's in need of love today" for use in the film ""Darfur Now" (featuring Bono and Stevie Wonder himself), mixing front of house for the Imagined Village live activities. Co-writing and production of a debut solo album for recent Afro Celt Sound System collaborator Dorothee Munyaneza (the voice of "Hotel Rwanda"), currently being mixed in 5.1 surround and stereo, due for completion and release later in 2009. After that it's time to reconvene for some new ACSS recording!!
