Sonic Orchid's new full-length CD entitled, Love & War, has been released in April,2008, maintaining its current classic melodic hard rock style, but now incorporating orchestrated arrangements and melodic progressive metal infections into its sound. Sonic Orchid's debut EP entitled "Sonic Orchid" is explosive, sleek and sexy. The album features strong, solid, female vocals and powerful guitar-driven melodic rock. Lead singer, Christina, fuels the group with her siren-like vocals, having the ability to reach into gritty and powerful inflections to soft, sweet and sultry colors. Lead guitarist, Brad, is compared to the likes of virtuosos Joe Satriani and Neil Schonn.

Based in Regina, Saskatchewan, this 4-piece group originated as a cover band in 2002, mimicking the musical styles and on-stage intensity of hard rockers Judas Priest, ACDC and Guns n Roses. Having a female lead singer gave this group a unique twist in executing these hard rock artists. Yet songwriting quickly developed amongst the group; the group's main focus is to build it's spot as a recording and touring act. The group's influences are wide and are rooted in some of the forerunners of rock. Assuming the worldly messages of Journey, adopting the soulful sounds of Led Zeppelin, giving a hint of heavy Iron Maiden and incorporating the modern sounds of Lacuna Coil, the group's music covers a wide range of styles. Coupling classic rock with melodic pop-metal, Sonic Orchid appeals to listeners of all ages. Sonic Orchid has managed and promoted themselves, creating a buzz successfully on their own, performing in various venues and festivals around Western Canada, and through internet marketing/networking, community/campus and internet radio. The group's EP, released in 2005, has sold a substantial number of units simply through live shows. The new CD, entitled Love and War, released in May of 2008, is receiving positive feedback from both fans and music industry professionals. Both Cds are available on CD Baby and Apple iTunes Music Store. Sonic Orchid is presently being played on many internet and community/campus radio stations, and has gained much media exposure through print, radio and TV. Convincing musicality, captivating stage personalities and an energetic, easy on the eyes balls to the wall rock show is driven by a raw intensity fueled by passion.
Christina Gasparic - Lead vocals, guitar, and keyboards
Christina has been in the music business for a number of years, honing her art as a professional musician, songwriter, and entrepreneur. She has experience in a variety of music ranging from Classical to R&B to Country and to Rock. Thus, her voice ranges from sweet and sultry, to hard and gritty with a wide range. Her uncanny ability to connect with her audience and keep them engaged is something to be seen. Christina is no stranger to touring before earning her Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Regina. She works as a High School music and drama teacher, is a certified fitness trainer, and participates in musical theatre and film. However, her passion is Sonic Orchid and is working hard to build and maintain its status in the music business.
Brad Evanochko - Lead guitar, vocals
Brad is also a veteran musician, who has previously performed and co-written with a number of rock groups within Regina. His guitar heroes are the likes of Joe Satriani, Neil Schonn, David Gilmour and Billy Duffy. He has a talent for creating and playing melodic lines that “sing”. Brad is also a certified visual artist, creating art in Toronto for some time, before moving back to Regina, where he currently teaches guitar and runs the Rock Program and at the Academy Of Music in Regina.
C.J. Cook - Bass guitar, vocals
C.J. has performed in a number of rock groups within Regina and Saskatoon before joining Sonic Orchid. His bass hero is Billy Sheehan, a world-class bassist who has played in various major label groups. C.J. brings a special dynamic to the group with his ability to make the music groove. A technical wizard, C.J. maintains the technical aspect for Sonic Orchid. He currently teaches bass and guitar privately.
Grant Frew - Drums, percussion, and vocals
Grant is no stranger to live performance, as he's played in various Regina rock groups in the past. His influences range from ethnic to folk to rock music. As a perfectionist, Grant lays down the groove and drives the Sonic Orchid musical bus. A businessman in his own right, Grant is the bar and promotions manager at one of Canada's leading Brew Pubs in Regina.
HOW COULD I FORGET... pass an i love you to 6 pak,(best guitar player/light guy/sound guy/bus driver etc ever!) grosdana,(best cook ever!) and shmoada (best wine drinker provider and happy guy ever!)...loved painting the fence with him after playing the royal in moose jaw! hope to see you all soon!
