Dennis, the new venue, the korova that opened in sonic's place is a piece of crap. the sound sucks and the place is really freaking dirty. the people ended up letting me in for free since they couldn't make change. it was really sad.
I feel soo bad that I wasn't able to make it out the 13th. I've had some amazing times at SP and i'll never forget the great memories that were made there. You guys gave it one hell of a run. If you ever need help with anything, let me know, i'm here to help :)
Hey, just read the bad news, I havnt been online to much lately so im kinda late. First thing sorry i didnt make it out on the 13th. I was planning to but I got sick and just getting over it now. That sucks that sonic is no longer with us.... I have to say out of all the shows we have played we have enjoyed playing here the most. I wont ever forget our two biggest shows there... our comeback show and that halloween show. You and your crew were great to us. Thanks for the help that you have done to the music community. R.i.P Sonic Portrait
We're at a loss for words here, man, so please forgive how short this is. We've played some great shows at Sonic and you guys have given us the chance to put our feet in the door around here. Thanks. A lot.
awe dennis :( worst possible news to ever hear. i don't know what were going to do with the local music scene. i mean so many bands became known all because of sonic portrait, and of course me and cassie had the best times ever, met some of the coolest kids ever, and witnessed amazing shows. sonic brought all of us together. and will stay in our thoughts. rip<33 thanks for trying to fight the battle, and making the past year amazing for all of us.
To Dennis and Sharon all I can say is THANK YOU! The last few months working with you and being part of a wonderful place like Sonic has given me such an incredible sense of purpose, and that will never go away. In the midst of all of that, I was able to work with, watch, and help mentor some of the most incredible young musicians I have ever met. In addition to that, I met and made friends with someone who I respect and appreciate. Sonic will never die, nor will it be the end if the musical dream we all share, life throws us many detours and sometimes we have to change direction to endure. We will all be worse off for the loss of this incredible venue, what we all need to do is remember what Dennis has told us about making a music scene and how important it is to work as team. To my friend I say, I am here for whatever you need and will continue to work to complete whatever needs to be done down at Sonic. KEEP ROCKIN’! Gaetano
I just want to say, that every moment I've spent at Sonic Portrait Showcase has been the highlight of my life, I've made so many new friends there and we've played with so many great bands, it's too bad all great things must come to an end. The local music scene will never be the same again. I just want to say thank you Dennis, for helping Down 'N' Dirty get to where we are, because without you we probably wouldn't even be around anymore today. I'm scared that now we may have to make a living playing at a place like Soundlab or Mojoes, and it's not gonna be the same. I will always have a place in my heart for Sonic Portrait, for making 2008 the most fulfilling year of my life. Thanks so much!!!!!
Hey dennis. Sorry to hear about Sonic closing. Wish we could have played the last show. The shows were a lot of fun to play. Just wish it was saved. R.I.P. <3
so, being a regular at the sonic portrait showcase, this is heartbreaking. the sonic was my second home for the entire past year. and you have no idea how upsetting this is. i can't even count up the amount of amazing/fun times i've had at the sonic.
