Sonja Myklebust - A cellist from the forest, found her way to the city only to stumble upon more questions than nature had already provided her with. None the less Sonja continues to say yes to a variety of musical and artisitic endeavors. A recent graduate from Lewis and Clark College she is using her music degree to explore the ideas that school never offered, playing with the Portland Cello Project, and continuing down the exciting path of classical music
Over the past decade Sonja has been part of chamber music of many kinds. Youth symphonies in Santa Rosa, CA and Portland, OR, quartets and quintets playing anything from the Beatles to Beethoven, The Portland Cello Project (or PCP), and other more experimental groups such as a synthesizer rock opera An Evening with Dot Matrix and Folk-pop duo Felina’s Arrow.
After her undergrad Sonja hopes to have an interim period of continuing her exploration of the diverse capabilities of the cello while free-lancing, practicing, and having a job with no homework. The next step will be graduate school in New York or Norway.
