About me:
S/L was established to bring artists together to create an evening beyond the normal "gig" and make an experience that has everyone working together to do what they do to the best of their abilities.
We've since taken that idea and put into a bi-weekly night at Neutral in Kensington Market, on Saturday nights (starting Nov 8th 2008)in collaboration with Kensington Station, which makes for one big night of live bands and DJs playing from 10pm til 3am. We're crossing scenes and bringing art, live music and dancing together under one roof in Kensington Market.
We do what we call "Big" shows 3 or 4 times a year at the Gladstone Ballroom, centered around live music with walls devoted to art and live video projections in all directions. We also show short films between acts too.
There is now a psychedelic series in collaboration with the Ambient Ping as well! In this we showcase psychedelic, ambient/avant-garde and alternative music www.myspace.com/psychedelicping
Sounds to be promoted are things such as Post-rock, Shoegaze, Psychedelic, Ambient, Folk, Ambient Doom, Orchestral Rock, Electronica, Acoustic, IDM.
