I have a long history of playing guitar in various touring tribute acts and I have been out on the road gigging live for too long now so after many, many years of compiling odds and ends, bits & pieces, stuff I scribbled on cocktail napkins, and drug induced ideas, I'm finally making my first ever solo album, and I'm very proud of it. It's called "Experiments In A Lost Art". Since I have a deep love for the grandiose music of the original progressive rock groups of the 70's (Emerson, Lake & Palmer / YES / Genesis / Pink Floyd / King Crimson / Moody Blues / Etc...) my album's direction is dedicated to those fantastic musical legends. I'm currently mixing and reworking the tracks and this is a true labor of love. I have total freedom because I'm playing all the instruments myself, electric and acoustic guitars, bass guitar, bass pedals, keyboards, and computer programing, and vocals. I am also rehearsing the material with some really good Minnesota musicians, drummer Gregg Hyster and bassist Kevin McGannon so there may be some cool live shows on the horizon. This is a chance for me to finally do what I've wanted for years. This project will be a completely original approach to try to get back to when music was really musical. This will be a very entertaining stage production using props, special effects lighting, and lazers.
During recent rehearsals we made the decission to add another dimension to our live shows, it will be called "The Three Man Salute To Pink Floyd". We'll be adding a Pink Floyd tribute set to our show consisting of songs from the albums Dark Side Of The Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, and The Wall. You'll be amazed at how well a three piece band can cover the amazing Pink Floyd sound.
STAY TUNED!
