Sonny Troy is an American jazz guitarist. This Philadelphia artist has played for 50 plus years from solo guitar, straight ahead be-bop, to big band music. Sonny has been showcased in Las Vegas clubs to the Mike Douglas Show. Sonny Troy was featured at the Cancun Jazz Festival in 1992. He also performed for two Presidential Inaugurations for President Ronald Reagan. He also performed in the East Room of the White House for President Bush's 1992 Christmas Party.
Sonny Troy also conducted and played for Frankie Avalon, Bobby Rydell, Paul Anka, Connie Francis, Annette Funicello, Peggy Lee, and many various jazz groups. He has instructed many students for nearly 30 years. He currently resides in the Philadelphia area and plays various shows in the area. Sonny currently plays a Gibson Guitar, but has advertised for Epiphone Guitars in the past while playing with a Las Vegas based group called the "Characters".
