I am a doctoral level clinical psychologist of First Nations/Native American ancestry, who loves to drum when I am not hard at work within the federal criminal justice system. I have been playing two and a half years, and am the drummer for a relatively new female rock band "The Plastic Glasses". I also like attending pow wows and other cultural ceremonies to bathe myself in the richness, spirit and tradition of tribal drumming.
The drum kits I play are a Sonor Force 3005 in Sunburst High Gloss, and a Tama Starclassic Maple Reserve LE. I also own a custom snare made by Raven Drums. There are pictures of all of them in the picture section of my profile. As you'll see, I'm a leftie just like Phil Collins! My cymbals are from the Meinl Byzance family.
Prior to my chosen profession I was a sports writer whose primary beat was hockey - imagine that, a Canadian interested in hockey! I also played, coached, and officiated the sport forever and a day back in the good ol' days, and golfed in the off season. At one point I dabbled in stand-up comedy but found it rather stressful ... um, okay ... so what do you call a cow with no legs? I've been a Philadelphia Flyer fan since I was 10, was named after NY Yankee "Babe" Ruth, and consider myself a reasonable Texas Hold 'Em player. I am affectionally referred to as RAT, Dr. RAT or just plain ol' Dr. Ruth.

I'd pretty much like to see any drummer in a gig, concert or clinic. That said, it'd certainly be all that and a bag of chips to see Neil Peart, Nicko McBrain, Carter Beauford, Scott Travis, Benny Greb, Matt Sorum, Billy Cobham, Tommy Lee, and of course Jon Farriss play. I've seen Marco Minnemann and Johnny Rabb play together twice and could certainly listen to that duo again 'till the cow(bell)s came home. I'd see them together for a third time if I had the chance, no one would have to ask me twice.
I also wouldn't mind meeting world reknowned Chefs Gordon Ramsay, Mario Batali and/or Bobby Flay - just kinda hang out in their kitchens and watch them work their magic whilst pounding back a cold glass of milk in a highball glass with one of those wee little orange umbrellas in it! It'd be awesome to provoke Gordon Ramsay enough to get sworn at ... but not enough to make me cry :(
+++Germany calling+++ Hi Sonorgirl! Thanks for your support! All the best wishes to you over in Canada from the German Guitar Rock trio JANCREE & groove on! P.S.: 4 brand new tracks now online at our profile ... check 'em out & drop us a comment if you find the time ...
Holy Smokes! Thanks for all the birthday wishes peeps, I was kinda bowled over by it. Glad to see us drummers "sticking" together :)
Keep pounding those tubs and shreddin' your sticks to a bloody pulp (unless of course you're playing something quiet and serene like jazz or something). In that case I'd say keep on groovin'!

£leTriKa sounds completely different from any Metal band you have ever heard. The Brazilian rhythms and the Portuguese language added to the songs makes its style unique, giving birth to a new kind of Metal. If you are really looking for something new about Metal, you should check £leTriKa out!
