Summer of 2006, Vince David and Dante Kris Parado met through Youtube doing acoustic covers. The two got together and shared their passion for music. A few weeks later Dante Kris met Justin Fernandez on Myspace and discovered that Justin has a great talent for singing. Rafael Victor Deveyra, Justin's friend was also introduced, and he showcased his talent on the guitar.
Few months after; Fall of 2006, Justin moved to the City (He was initially from Gurnee) and the 4 started to jam together frequently at a local studio on the South Side of Chicago (CPE Sound www.cpesound.com, which is now located downtown) doing covers of 90's major bands such as Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Rage Against The Machine etc.
Dante Kris shared his talent on the drums, RV became the lead guitarist, Vince picked up the bass, and Justin took on lead vocals. The group later on decided to move forward and create a name for themselves........... "Zilo" was born..
Winter of 2007, Zilo was officially formed and the 4 jammed and practiced atleast once a week. Disregard of booking Gigs or not having any at all, the 4 just enjoyed what they love the most....Music!
Summer of 2007, Rock around the Block on Lincoln Avenue, Dante Kris and Justin were discussing a potential change for their band's name. They wanted something that'll represent the band, Something that's more than just a name, Something that's more than catchy as it sounds, Something that represents the 4 of them, Something that's more meaningful and powerful... They wanted a name that speaks out for each and everyone of them, a name that they all can be proud of.....
"Sons Of The 3rd"
From that moment on, Zilo disappeared and the 4 is now known as "Sons Of The 3rd" - Zilo was a catchy short 2 syllable word, but So3 (in short) is what they really want to be.
"Lea Roach" acoustic, was the first composition, words written by Justin F. and music by Dante Kris. The song has since been finalized to full band version. Later on, So3 concentrated on composing their own music. Justin started writing songs to RV's unique guitar riffs and Dante Kris shared one of his early composition ("My Drug") to add to the band's repertoire.
Todate, So3 has 6 original compositions and plays at local bars mostly in Chicago. They are currently working on recording their first EP CD, which will be used for demos and to pass out to their supporting Family, Friends and other fellow Bands.
