Sonya Hunter is "a singer-guitarist with the voice of an angel and the delivery of a freight train" according to one British psychedelic-folk rag. The Northern California-raised songwriter's work is chronicled in her six-album discography, and her most recent, Sun in Mind drew this musing from Denise Sullivan: "Hunter uses her love of jazz and her access to some of its alternative players to infuse her folky and spacey leanings with a twist of cool." Derk Richardson has described Sonya's music as "the stuff of folk-pop dreams."

Hello! How are you? It's been a long, long time. I just saw Michel and Jay play a few weeks ago. Wonderful! I hope everything is beautiful in your world. Look through my pics and you'll see mine. You can hear me in Amber Asylum. Hope to hear from you, musically and otherwise. xo M
Sonya, thanks for the connection & friendship. Even though the psychedelic-folk scene is not one of my favorites, i don't know what happens with your case; i just love everything you have done so far; Finders, Keepers though is my favorite, i love the orchestrations on this record, it's just brilliant! Hope for a new album soon after Sun In Mind; it's been so long, don't you think? All the very best for the future, Matteus.
hey sonya: it's been a while, but maybe you remember me-- we met in a cafe where you once worked. i used to live on 16th and albion. still really enjoy your tunes. "sidewinder" is great. best brian

I like this music a lot!!: Thank you very much for finding my Space-site. I´ve always loved this combination of folk with some jazzchords..makes a lot of nice colours; the chords..and it also reminds me a little of Crosby, Stills.. and their fellows..
