Sony Holland is a vocalist based in San Francisco. Aside from Bay Area jazz venues like Yoshi's & the Rrazz Room and festivals like the Stanford Jazz Fest, Sony and her combo have played at the Catalina in L.A. and at the Blue Note in NYC this year. Typically she performs with a quartet or quintet, but Sony also does a lot of gigs at smaller venues accompanied only by acoustic guitar. Her repertoire includes hundreds of jazz & pop songs and dozens of original compositions. She has recorded three CDs which are all available at CD Baby & Amazon. In reverse order they are titled "Swing, Bossas, Ballads & Blues", "Out Of This World" and "On A San Francisco High".

LIVE VIDEO "COME FLY WITH ME" @ SAN JOSE JAZZ FEST
Vocalist Sony Holland is a stellar presence on the San Francisco jazz scene. With effortless swing and perfect pitch she jazzes up a phrase by sliding gracefully into silky high-notes and soothing lows. The SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE says, “Her voice combines the pop styling of Nancy Wilson and the bell tones of Streisand,” and the Oakland Tribune calls the San Francisco based vocalist "a local treasure."
Sony was born in the icy north of Minnesota where Dad was a Minister and Mom directed the choir. Singing has always been a part of her life. Now at home in the Bay Area she performs in every possible setting including concert halls, jazz festivals, nightclubs, galas and for social events. The well-traveled singer has also performed extended runs in Asia’s top 5-Star hotels such as the InterContinental in Kowloon, the Park Hyatt in Tokyo and the new Lebua Hotel in Bangkok.
She has built a strong following initially attracted by her CD of original material titled ON A SAN FRANCISCO HIGH, released in 2004 and followed it up with a CD of standards entitled OUT OF THIS WORLD. Drawing comparisons to icons like Peggy Lee and Nancy Wilson, Ms. Holland is a world-class entertainer with a style uniquely her own.

A night of excellent draft beer, fine food and terrific live music played through a new, tuned Meyer Sound system. It doesn’t get any better than that!
good day your music is great I love the jazz you has a beautiful voice and you sing well and it is great cool I thank you to have me accepts and I says you good week thank you kiss
Hi Sony! Glad you had a good time performing at the Blue Note. Sorry to hear about the sound problem. The Dizzy G Alumni Big Band with Roberta was great last night. The place isn't one of my favorites, but they do have top name entertainment. So many other great Jazz clubs in NYC luckily, where you aren't crowded in and where there isn't a high cover charge etc. All in all, it was a great performance, and thats what counts most. Hope you are doing well. Sorry I couldn't get to see you when you were there. Best Wishes Tony
