Hi, my name's Suzanne. I'm 26 years old and from London where I've lived all my life except the four years that I was at University in Leicester (I did a BA in English followed by an MA in English Literary Research). After contemplating becoming an Academic Researcher for a while, and quickly realising that this would entail years of work with very little or no money at the end of it, I moved back home and got a job in Public Relations. Three years (and indeed three jobs) later, I'm a Senior Account Executive for a PR firm in Covent Garden where I handle mostly b2b technology accounts but with some consumer tech as well.
On the whole I'm pretty happy with my life. I've got some great friends, my job is pretty good and I generally keep myself busy with a number of interests. I love music particularly rock and indie (can't wait for V festival this year - Foo Fighters, Kasabian, Killers, Kooks it's gonna be great!). I enjoy going to gigs (saw My Vitriol and Goo Goo Dolls recently and am seeing Incubus later this year). Oh, and if you're reading this and thinking that my musical tastes are a little...atypical...well, you're probably right. Blame my best friend (thanks Ade!). Here's where I tell you that I drink lager as well (gasp!). But don't get the wrong idea, I am definitely NOT a ladette. In fact, anyone who calls me that gets a pint in the face. Did I say pint? I meant half. :)
I also like to keep fit and enjoy running (ran the London Marathon last year), inline skating (I enjoy the Sunday Stroll every week), climbing, swimming, skiing and Ceroc (to name a few!). But don't get the wrong idea - I can be a slob too! I love films (my favourite website is the IMDB), be it cinema or DVD with a glass of wine (or two!). And of course going out - but then who doesn't, right?
I like to travel and spent three months in America during the summers of 2000 and 2001 (I did the whole Bunac thing). Both years worked on a children's summer camp for two months and then travelled for the third month. Thus I've visited New York, Vermont, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco (my favourite place), Los Angeles, Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon (was seriously awed by such an amazing spectacle). I also went to Canada and spent some time in Niagara Falls, Toronto and Montreal. I'd love to go back to America sometime as I haven't been south yet, and would also like to visit more of the west including Seattle.
Let's see, what else. Well, I love Eddie Izzard. I think his bizarre ramblings about cats drilling behind your sofa, exploding grandmothers and clarinet teachers called Mrs Badcrumble are hilarious (If you haven't seen him and don't know what on earth I'm on about, look him up!) I've seen Eddie live a couple of times - caught his "Sexie" tour at Wembley Arena a few years ago and more recently at a Mo Mowlam charity event at the Hackney Empire. He's brilliant! In fact, another comedian I like for similar reasons is Paul Merton whose humour is so wonderfully obscure and random. When he's on 'Have I Got News For You' I love how he's able to introduce the most random and always hilarious scenarios to something very mundane.
