Zimbabwean-born, Minneapolis-raised singer Sophia Shorai began honing her passion for music at the age of five, through classical and jazz studies. Inspired by her mother and father, both musicians, along with such vocal icons as Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, and Anita O'day , Shorai spent the majority of her formative years singing and playing piano in jazz and rock clubs around her hometown. She has achieved national and international recognition for lending her singing to many television commercials as well as vocal recordings for major motion pictures and popular television series'. Shorai is currently in the studio, writing songs for an upcoming album of original material. She is also planning out a new jazz recording with Tommy Barbarella. Stay tuned...
