My great-grandfather was one of those speaking-in-tongues, fire and brimstone soap-box preachers for an off the wall christian sect. My poetry is much the same thing, minus the religion.
I'm an observer who doesn't know when to keep her mouth shut. I unintentionally tread on toes. I'm old enough to be cynical about everything, and young enough to have a vague hope the term vox populi might still mean something. Slam poetry allows people a captive audience and a platform with which to say whatever they want. That's a very powerful opportunity and I intend to take advantage.
I've been writing and performing for nearly 3 years, and have performed all over the UK and in the US. I have two collections and an album coming out this year. Keep an eye on this page for details. hey there. i've just finished a 22hr mammoth album making session. we recorded, mixed and mastered 12 tracks. it was done in 3 studios with accompaniment from an ensemble of 9 musicians. driving home through the mountains at 7am feels like a dream remembered to me now. the book is with the printers, the Cd at the press. now its time to hype it. i'm posting tracks from the album on rotation every couple of days this and next week on my page.
