My name is James Bell and back in November 2005, I founded Southern Ohio Paranormal Research after watching the hit Sci-Fi series "Ghost Hunters". After watching the 1st season, I tried searching to see if there were any other paranormal groups in the greater Cincinnati area. After finding none, I decided to create my own group.
In March 2006, SOPR launched its official website and since then, we've met some wonderful people in this field and worked with some terrific groups. We've been on over 18 investigations with some more investigations currently pending.
You may be asking, "What is SOPR?" Well, I'll tell ya. Southern Ohio Paranormal Research is based in Cincinnati with members located in Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, and Kentucky. We conduct investigations in the Tri-State area (Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana) and up and down the I-71 & I-75 corridors. During the investigation, we keep an open mind and try to debunk anything that the client state happens or that we find while reviewing the evidence. Once we are left with evidence that we cannot debunk or have happen on cue, we then are left with evidence of some kind of paranormal activity. Now, when we say "paranormal activity", we're not really saying that a place is "haunted". To us, they are two different terms and have two different meanings. "Paranormal" just means, "above the norm". We then consider everything that was told to us, what we experience, and what we've caught on video, evps, etc. to determine rather a place can be classified as haunted or not.
As always, our investigations are free of charge!!!

Who I'd like to meet: Fellow Paranormal Investigators
The annual Perseid meteor showers, which seem to radiate from the constellation Perseus, have been viewable to some extent since around July 17. But tonight, they are expected to be at their peak, with as many as 80 meteors streaking the sky hourly. You can look up for them throughout the night tonight, but especially promising times are between 9 and 11 p.m. PDT, and before dawn on Wednesday morning.Just before the first rays of Wednesday, you may see “dozens” of the shooting stars. The 9-to-11 p.m. window, though, is when you should watch for what astronomers call “earthgrazers,” which may make up for their lack of frequency with their memorable good looks. These are “meteors that approach from the horizon and skim the atmosphere overhead like a stone skipping across the surface of a pond,” said Bill Cooke of NASA, as quoted in another NASA post. “They are long, slow and colorful — among the most beautiful of meteors.”
