In fact, Sorcier Des Glaces should be seen as a "tribute" to early Norwegian Black Metal that was given to us from 1990-1996. It's only pure misanthopy and evilness...
Sorcier Des Glaces was created in 1997 with the interest of doing a kind of "tribute" to early Black Metal, that goal has always remained the same since that time. This is a whole concept obsessed by misanthropy, infused with a total black hate for humanity. This enigmatic project has released a first album called "Snowland" at the begining of 1998: that album has never got a distribution deal or a professional release, it was only available as a CDR copy. In 1999, SDG recorded a second offering called "Moonrise in total Darkness", an album full of freezing melodies and an escape to the northern landscapes. That album was not released until december 2006, on Mankind’s Demise Records, a promising new label from Quebec City. Many reasons has kept this album in the dark for 7 years, since its recording.
In 2008, SDG is in songwriting process for the third chapter that will be called "The puressence of primitive forests". Plans are to record the album later this year, and to release it somewhere in 2009.
Sorcier Des Glaces doesn’t claim to be original and don’t try to prove something to the black metal scene. This is a total dedication to the old feeling of early Black Metal, without interference of so-called "new elements" in music or "progression" for that kind of music. Cold primitive music.
