With an engaging sound that is aggressively passionate while maintaining a pop sensibility, Sore Eyes, a four piece pop/rock band formed in the heartland of Memphis, Tennessee, is making proverbial tidal waves in a landlocked music scene. Possessing an uncanny ability to draw on each member’s unique musical style while at the same time coalescing their musings has resulted in a sound that resonates with fans of pop and rock alike; a sound that is paving the way for a new era in music. Armed with saccharine hooks, edgy riffs, a dynamic stage presence and energetic live performance, Sore Eyes has garnered a fast-growing fan base and can draw a crowd wherever they take the stage, making them a force to be reckoned with.

It was the instant chemistry between Shi Eubank (vocals) and Jeremiah Lipscomb (guitar) that first compelled the two to begin writing songs in an apartment on the outskirts of Memphis. After several writing sessions that spawned a product impossible to ignore, the duo recruited Chris Whitham and Landon fox on drums and bass to round out the line-up. Ever since, Sore Eyes’ ubiquity on the national touring scene has afforded the band many prestigious opportunities, including a share of the stage with rock mainstays Hoobastank, Boys Like Girls, Framing Hanley, and Chevelle. Most recently, platinum recording artist Zach Myers of Shinedown took notice of the band’s infectious sound and relentless work ethic to the point of action, signing on (along with Randy Holmes of Holmz Music) to manage the up-and-coming powerhouse.

Proving that hard work and persistence really do pay off, Sore Eyes has made major strides in the past few years. Releasing two EP’s—one with Brett Hestla (Creed, Dark New Day) and another with Producer Andrew Wade (A Day to Remember)—the band have been moving rapidly to the forefront of their peers. Stellar showmanship and a very interactive approach to fans have earned the quartet endorsements from such industry leaders as Dr. Pepper and Memphis Car Audio (Fulmar Co.). It was in August of 2010 that Sore Eyes performed to the biggest crowd to date, sharing the stage with Saving Abel in front of an astonishing thirty-thousand people at the Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan prior to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. “That was, so far, one of the biggest blessings I’ve ever had in my life. It was just a sea of people and they loved us!” reflects Jeremiah. Rounding out 2010 with over 225 shows, Sore Eyes is currently hard at work writing for their third album, and will begin recording with Shinedown bassist Eric Bass in early 2011 before immediately embarking on a promotional tour for their new material. Thanks to their drive, work-ethic, and a fan base that has been growing exponentially since their inception, this band has the guts and gumption to make it in a scene that is saturated by the formulaic and mundane. It’s about time Pop rock got a face lift, and Sore Eyes are the skilled surgeons performing the operation. Expect more big things from this power-pop juggernaut in the VERY near future.

  • Bio

Sore Eyes, a four-piece blend of up-tempo, alternative, punk-inspired, radio-friendly rock, has a youthful and engaging sound that is aggressively passionate while maintaining a pop sensibility. This rock quartet is comprised of lead singer Shi Eubank, drummer Chris Whitham, bassist Landon Fox and guitarist Jeremiah Lipscomb. The band is known for taking each member's unique musical style and fusing them together to form a eclectic mixture of old and new. To some, the sound is soul and pop. To others, it's paving the way for a new era in rock. Sore Eyes originated in Memphis, Tennessee in 2006 per the meeting of Shi and Jeremiah who later recruited the talents of Chris and Landon. Once the line-up and chemistry was complete it was time to hit the road. Their ubiquity on the national touring scene has afforded the band the opportunity to share the stage with the likes of Saving Abel, Egypt Central, Trust Company, Framing Hanley, and most recently, platinum recording artists Shinedown. Sore Eyes was also one of the fixtures at The Cornerstone Festival '08 in Bushnell, Illinois and had the honor of playing in support of the iconic band Sevendust at Rockapalooza 2010. With catchy, infectious lyrics and paramount beats, they have crafted an expansive rock sound that is dripping with ambition. This ambition is already paving a path for their future as they will be rejoining Shinedown on the road later this year. In 2007, the band began gaining mass popularity which garnered a huge underground following. In the fall of 2008, the guys decided to pack up and take a trip to Orlando, Florida to record their self-titled debut EP with producer Brett Hestla who is the former touring bassist for Creed and now the lead singer of Dark New Day. Brett has also produced MySpace.com phenoms Framing Hanley. Sore Eyes’ self-titled EP was released on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 and received with much anticipation from their ever-growing fan base, selling over 10,000 copies to date. With musical influences that include such bands as The Used, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Saosin, Incubus, Hopesfall, Paramore and Alexisonfire, the musical possibilities are endless. Sore Eyes is as unique as they come and their songs "OMG", "My Promise", "Deadly" and "One Good Reason" have been and will continue to be the subject of your friends next MySpace.com bulletin or Facebook status. Given their incredibly dynamic stage presence and energetic live performances, Sore Eyes immediately becomes a crowd favorite with return draws and a strong growing fan base.
